CSR Lake Erie Islands 2012 Rendezvous

well it's looking more promising to slide me into the attending from the tentative. big question is what kind of time frame are we talking. Is it a "meet up for lunch" thing? an all day thing? overnight? I'm game for just about anything, but depending on what we're doing decides which boat I bring:grin:

We would want to do an overnight - Arrive Saturday early. Late afternoon, early evening get together for meal, drinks, etc. Over to PiB Saturday night for those that are interested. Sunday departures.

that sounds like a winner to me
I would hate to trailer 10+ hours round trip and launch for lunch

Here are my plans...
I will be on the boat Thursday night.
Friday after noon I will head over to MBI.
Friday night will be meet and great at the boats...bring some snacks to share if you would like...
Saturday A.M. free time and meet the rest of the crews as they arrive...
Saturday let's say 1 to 2 congregate for late lunch Blue lagoon just order off the menue... (I suggest the Blackend Grouper Ruben or Southwestern wrap...yum)
Saturday night do what you like... PIB/Jf's/ sit on my boat enjoy my beer... doesn't really matter to me
Sunday I will hang around and help people out and wish you all a safe cruise, Aftica will be close behind...

If you guys have any suggestions or comments let me know...

Ps..For the record I drink bud light but usually have miller as well for those wanting to drink my beer.

HI there -
I haven't logged on on awhile - but the hubby & I will be at ILYA power regatta @ PIB that weekend. We will also be @ Kelley's Island the weekend before and Cedar Point and MBI in between. Would love to meet some Club SeaRay locals.

3foot-itis I have you on the list welcome aboard... please not the post to contact Buckeye Boater...

Plans look good. The only question that I have is do we want to try to plan a group get together for a meal at the marina? Similar to what our colleagues have done at their get togethers in Baltimore, Atlantic City, etc? Maybe Saturday - late afternoon/early evening and still leave time for those that want to got to PiB, JF Walleyes, etc.

Not sure what we would have at our disposal at MBI? (tables, grills, etc.)

BB... I think it would be nice to have a get together like the "table of the gods" but am not sure it is currently possible on MBI. They are building a pavilion for parties but it is not completed yet. The other draw back is not adult beverages would be permited. I feel for this year it would be easier to go to JF's and maybe have some appitizers on the boats on Friday night. Its just my opinion, how about some of you other guys?

To PM Buckeye Boater... thanks Casey

we are still waiting for the info from You guys.

BB and Pyrojodge

RSVP PM sent.

Jason, Casey, are you guys going to coordinate the dockage as a group, or do you want us to call for dockage reservations directly to the harbormaster? I have no problem each way, its just if you guys are doing it, then we should all clue you in as to our arrival and planned departures. If we are doing it on our own, then we should all make sure and let them know we are coming as part of the rendezvous so that they can hopefully put as many of us together as possible. If I missed this in another post, I apologize.

Randy,

I don't believe MBI marina opens until April to start taking reservations. Jason, can you confirm? Also, let us know how we should handle the reservations.

Thanks!

All,
We were there last summer with a group and did our "table for the Gods" on the dock where you can have adult beverages. We just boat hopped until we were full and d#$%^. My vote would be for a dock party one night.

Dan

Was this at the yacht club dock? I know from previous exp that they frown upon adult drinks on the state docks. It would be nice to have a dock party. A table with food would be geat but we would have to cordinate with the larger boats so people could use the swim platform or cockpit for a hang out. (I am fine with this on my boat)

Dockage!!!
My plans are to talk to Susie asap since she hails from my home town in the winter and see if we can make some arrangements. My plan is to inform them that we have about 15 boats comming in for the "CSR RENDEZVOUS'' . I believe that it will be easier for all of us to make our own reservations when the time comes closer. I will do my best to get us all together. Thank you all for working with me getting this going.

Any more input on "table of the gods"?

Jason,

I plan on arriving on Friday evening. This would be a nice night for app's on the dock and adult drinks on the boats. Maybe do a crawl from boat to boat crawl  as based on my last visit, the summer before last, you won't get anywhere with alcohol on the dock. As far as a table for the gods, is there any kind of area where we could set up such a thing at the new harbormaster building? Does anyone know of a member of the Yacht Club that might be able to find us such a spot there?

If not, then let's stick to the plan of Walleyes for a Saturday afternoon CSR gathering and PIB for the night (for those who wish to head there). This gives all options and intensity levels for fun.

My only other thought, and we'll have to see the make up of the CSR gang, is to see if we need to come up with things for kids to do. Weather dependant, maybe we can find a member who wants to pull some tubers etc.

Randy,

I think at boat crawl would be fun... They are building a pavilion for parties and get together. I am not sure if this will be finished by then or if we can reserve it. IMHO, I think that appetizers and a boat crawl on Friday night. Plus Walleyes on Saturday afternoon will be the best bet. I know that we can reserve space in the blue lagoon.

I have several friends in the yacht club on MBI. I hate to ask them to open it up for us though. I am not sure that they would be open to a dozen or so outsiders using the facilities. If this is something you guys want to pursue then I will ask. I just feel that they will not be thrilled about the idea.

I hear ya, let's just have so much fun that they all come to our party!!

You can count us in, but we will confirm closer to the date, because we have a Put-in-Bay trip the follwoing weekend. We will be four for sure, pos 6 (2 adults, 4 kids). If things go well we should be there by fri afternoon and prob stay until sunday morning.

Big Dave... I'll put you down... please refer to post #61.

Randy... sounds good to me. I am positive that it will be a great time....
