Fly Bridge vs Cave Boat, Portable Generators and Harbor Freight tools

I think sailboats are better than powerboats...

Now thats just sick.

But due to where I hang out at, I probably should not say that to loud.

You guys are all nuts. (cracking up!)

I was using 4" screws to put my new floor down, I think I went through the hull. Should i just break them off and paint over?

Back em out and use 3" screws, that way they won't stick too far out of the hull and you won't have to do anything because they will corrode off flush to the hull, bottom paint will cover them when you do it next season. LOL

Cant you just run a bonding wire to them and not worry about it?

Is it ok to run my gas generator overnight while on the hook?

Is there anything wrong with fenders tied to the bow rail all season long, especially when cruising on plane?

You could never get away with that in Florida... Diver would charge 2 or 3 times the normal amount for the extra time scraping the hull around all those screws. Better to take a hammer and just bend them over, smear some silicone over them.

Can I safely take my 18ft bowrider to the Bahamas, will I have enough gas?

That question was actually posed on another site. The fellow wanted to go from Montauk to Block.

The same guy wanted advice on retrofitting a weed whacker into a bow thruster for the same 18 footer.

He was an interesting dude.

Do my twin VHF antennas need to be straight up and down or can I leave them raked back at a jaunty angle? (For us longer-time members)

What does the blower switch do on the boat? Is it important? (I'm just asking for a friend).

Yeah, I remember that one - Bob and the bowrider.

Yes, but if you bond all the screws, you have to run the bonding wire up to your Honda generator that is tied to the swim platform.

Actually, I think it was the stern. PSA: you'll need a LOT of popcorn!!!

Bringing a potbelly pig on boat

(And you're welcome!)

Ding! Winner!

Hopefully I will get to read more soon but I had to stop when they were talking about rigging something up because the pig was too heavy to lift and then Gary dropped the:

"I had to rig something like this up for my wife.." bomb! :smt043

Balls of brass and large my friend.....

I just spent about an hour of my life reading that thread. I couldn't look away. Pure genius right there.

Gary (Four Suns) had a way with people like that! I'm sorry that he's hard at work now, I miss his humor:

A Classic! Especially since it shows the late Dom on One Sweet Day with his CAT Flag!

Or my all time Gary favorite:

Having met that sweet dog, I just LMAO every time I think of this thread! The pictures in Post #31 just crack me up.

Is there a formula for bouancy?I was thinking two more diesels would double my top end and get her on the plane in half the time saving me tons of gas.Would the extra weight cause people to ***** in a no wake zone?

We could discuss those crapy"Boat Safe " bilge heaters. That was a good topic from last year -- hehe
I got two of those--one for each engine--and plugged them into a power strip in the bilge. Right now I have one of the ER covers open so the extension cord can reach the power outlet on the dock, but I'm thinking it would be better to drill a hole and thread it through instead--what size bit should I use?
