Hockey gold medal. USA or Canada?

The U.S. olympic team won the most number of medals ever for a winter olympics.

I think that North America did great!

Well my comments were tongue in cheek, and I specifically excluded Sea Ray owners, but since you seem to want to go there, I will. My parents and god parents were run out of an establishment in Quebec City simply for speaking english. Now when I say run out, I mean threatened with bodily harm, jeered, and insulted. My mom speaks fluent french, so she got to enjoy the insults in two languages. My parents were in their late 60's at the time. Real class, huh, go after the old folks. All my parents were trying to do was have dinner in a local restaurant. These two couples have traveled all over the world together, and Quebec City was the only place they ever faced discrimination.

So you really want to bring up class, uneducated drivel and stereo types?

As to the F*** USA chants, that was related by someone who was in the building, a US player. And as to context, exactly what context would make it acceptable to chant F*** USA? We can compare education some other time.

As I said, my comments were tongue in cheek, but I obviously struck a nerve. And to your "sore loser" comment, I am just wodering how many Canadians would be calling that the greatest game ever if it had gone the other way? I mean, based on media reports, the country almost had mass suicides after the US won the round robin game.:wow:

Personally, I love hockey, but the "beautiful game" is really the perfect sport.

It was a great game though. Now I'm ready for the NHL, but I think the level of play will be a bit less than the either the US - Canada games.

Your comments - tongue in cheek or not - were abrasive, divisive, and unnecessary. Basing your opinion about Quebec or Francophones on a single, obviously rotten experience by your family is your prerogative. Announcing it to the site - where there are many Canadians and many French speakers, seems like poor judgement to me.

Since you seem to be from Missouri, would it be right for me to post a slur against the fine citizens of your state just because I had a bad experience in a bar in St. Louis? I don't think so, either.

I think you could have used much better judgement in your post.

You may post as many slurs about me or anyone in my state based on any factor you choose on a faceless forum and it will not bother me in the least.

Obviously it bothers you and you are offended, and for that I apologize.
