It was a futile mission from day one. Now the world will have to fight ISIS and Al Qaeda everywhere again now that they will have their home base again.

I guess when a large portion of your people blame the western world for their strife, and not their adherence to 2000 year old principles, it can never change.

Actually, we had two choices. Kill the Taliban, kill them all. Or stick around for another 20 years while the old generation dies and the new generation grows up not knowing Taliban rule. They may have put up a fight.

The problem in the middle east is that the kids growing up know nothing else, and are purposely sheltered from knowing anything else. The rest of the world has tried many ways to "fix" the middle east. And all we do is provide inspiration for Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS. The more you kill, the more you inspire the next generation to inflict revenge on whoever killed their father. And the cycle goes on.

Mark my words, the US and its allies will be back in Afghanistan at some point in the future, trying to fix the unfixable.

That just not true. There are a handful of middle east nations that have figured it out. In Afganistan, the kids born after 9/11 are 20 and younger. They went from a somewhat "normal" life (ie; girls going to school) to Taliban rule literally over night. I am sure they are like, WTF. Another 20 years and they would be in in their 30's and 40's. They wouldn't stand for Taliban chit. Sure, they'll always have wakos over there. But they understand one thing, brut force. We don't, we pussy foot around. And that is why they can outlast us.

I’m thinking seeing as Hunter Biden’s paintings are worth $500k, maybe Joe can bribe the Taliban with them instead of taxpayer dollars and military equipment, to get our Americans back home safely.

Before the US went to war in Afghanistan, Russia was there for 9 years, they realized they could not win so they went home. Enter Nato and 20 years later the US Canada and a handful of other nations go screw this let's go home. This started with Trump one of his decisions I fully supported the original withdrawal date was May 31 an extension was sought and given to Aug 31.

Don't forget Russia's invasion resulted in a proxy war against the US. After 9/11 the US was there to get Bin Laden. After that, or perhaps even before, it became a boondoggle for the well conected military industrial complex.
