NW Inland Freshwater Rendezvous????

Understood. I hope to get out to the San Juan's sometime in '23, so we can talk about that after this latest cruise.
Or we can start planning the San Juan's cruise while cruising on the Snake! I'll bring my laptop and pictures so you can get a feel for the trip! Greg (Wyrman) can jump in on that one as well and give you his feedback on the Juan's and where to go. Victoria is a must and while you are in Canada, Sydney Spit and Ganges, the Pass through North/South Pender and back in the USA you can hit Sucia island, Jones island, Deer Harbor, Roche Harbor and Flag Ceremony, Garrison Bay, Stewart Harbor, Friday Harbor and so much more! I HOPE the border is opened to everybody by then!

I would have to boat all the way from PDX and back. Too far to pull both ways plus the washington permits to boot. I dont think I would be making that trip. Plus there is other factors that play into it for me.

J,

We might have to pull a second rendezvous somewhere down your way on the Columbia! Suggested spots?

To be honest, anywhere from PDX to Astoria is great. But I love it from The Dalles all the way down to Astoria.

I'm hoping the fleet comes in for the Rose festival. I'd like to meet them out in Astoria and go up the Willamette with them. But keep the distance from them. I really really don't feel the need to see what a 20mm or 50 cal can do to fiberglass. Even the DHS in their RIBs have 50's on the bows.

The whole west end is just stunning all times of the year.

The wife wants to do a spring run from Newport to Astoria and then back. 145 miles is what I calc'd for that run. SHould be fun to see Cannon beach and other areas from the "other" side.

Nate, any word on that design?

How many are interested? I know Nate is and GFC is. Any others?

I plan on incorporating my boat name into the design. I'm not sure if I am going for above the Sundancer Owners or below. I will plan that when I do the test stitch. If anybody else is wanting your boat name included, I can do that too. The cost for everything is what ever you want it on. Plus if you want your boat name. The "owners" is going to be cost only. I will figure that out once I get it back from digitizing.

So an example break down. I'm stitching on a Columbia Polar Feece. I got one that came pretty close to my boat colors for $35 on sale. And I have seen them lower at times. A standard hoodie costs me about $15. My boat name, digitizing was $20 for front and back($10 each) and I plan on 5 garments. So it will be a cost of $4 each. Less the more I do as it's a one time fee. My name is, full price, $30 for the back and $6 for the front. So it will be a total cost for the one jacket of $75 and then the cost of the "owners" when it comes back. And will last longer than most marriages today.

Not the final colors. Just a test stitch because I just got it in and have the proper colors on order, to match the strips on the seats and lettering. 20211119_142437.jpg 20211122_141934.jpg

Daughter just threw this at me. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Here is another version. I was leaning to this version more as it will fill out the back of a jacket a little more. And with your boat name above or below it, it will really fill out the back. This is version 1 and is being worked on right now to adjust a few things. What is the thoughts? And I have been talking to Sea Ray about the use of the this older logo.

This is copyrighted materials and can not be used without permission.

I do like that look. Do you believe Sea Ray would be open to letting us use their copyrighted material?

Waiting until after the weekend to find out. If not, I will just change the font and adjust the waves and it wont fall under their copyright. They dont own the word. Just the word in that font. Unless it's been 5 years since they last used it. Then it becomes public again. I'm not sure when they stopped using it and went to the new style.

But I'm not using it to do harm to them. And I'm not looking to make a profit. So it would be good PR and free advertising for the Sea Ray brand.

"As I read, we have five confirmed boats:
@Sundancer,
@wyrman,
@JHornsby3,
@Gofirstclass, and
@Nater Potater
Mike/GFC, how many bodies could your friend transport up to Lewiston?"
Nater, you will only have 4 boats. I'm boatless in the Tri Cities as we speak, but my friend (actually it's me) will be able to transport all of you.

"I would have to boat all the way from PDX and back. Too far to pull both ways plus the washington permits to boot. I dont think I would be making that trip. Plus there is other factors that play into it for me."
John, how about trailering to Umatilla and launching there? Just a thought.

I finally got the chance to look through files from an old computer and found a video of us going through Ice Harbor lock on our way back from Fishhook Park. It's about 15 minutes long but if you want to see what getting in to the lock is all about, you'll see that in the first few minutes.

I've often commented on here about how good my wife is at handling the lines and getting us tied to the bollard. At 2:15 in the video I ask her if I need to go forward or astern to get Beachcomber properly positioned on the bollard. At 2:18 she replies "We're good". I didn't realize it but she already had us secured. How's that for fast!? 3 seconds!

Also note the vertical position of the fenders. We're going down in the lock so the fenders are positioned right below the rub rail.

Enjoy.....

There might be one other boat and driver that are still undecided at this point. Since we're leaning towards September, I'm sure that list could grow or shrink!

@JHornsby3

I could always hitch up to your trailer in Umatilla and bring it to Tri-Cities using my permit? Or you could drive my truck, which is just like yours? Just a thought!!

I won't be making a north trip.

I have the final draft of the artwork. I need to know what everybody thinks before I continue with digitizing and with Sea Ray, if they ever respond. Oh and How about decals?

Again, Copyrighted materials, blah blah blah.

So word from Sea Ray is that I can not use that font. So I will change it up and go forth with that design. Unless others chime in with their thoughts. From what I can find, that font hasn't been used in over 20 years. So unless they have the copyright and patent for it, it is public domain. But I don't have the law team they do, so I will change it. I have gone through this with a silhouette of an aircraft and a company one other time. I contacted someone with the US Navy and they sent me to Canada who actually owned the design work. They dropped it when they retired the aircraft back in the 80's. They told me it was public to use as the public wished. Talk about fun.

I just want you guys to know that I'm not interested in the hoodie.
I am interested in doing the river cruise though.

Damn! I was thinking Nate was going to really have a fit with something else that is going to go on. LOL

Just FYI, I'm not interested in a hoodie either. We live in a desert so don't need any more of them than the 3 I already have.
