NW Inland Freshwater Rendezvous????

I don't wear hats anymore, but how about a pic out in the Pacific albacore fishing this past summer on the Ms Magoo.

Looking forward to doing the same with the SunDancer. Going out of Newport, we have been told anywhere from 2 miles out to 20 miles is all good. Same with Halibut.

No can do. As much as I'd like that blue hat, my boat hasn't been in the water long enough to see the sunset. However, here's a panorama of a recent sunrise (the bane/benefit of still being a working stiff).View attachment 117383
No, I'm not trying to play on your sympathies (as far as you know).
Looks like the industrial area that alta construction is in. Seen many of sunrises and sunsets from there. Most of the time 7 days a week every week. Loved it working there and hated it at the same time. In four years they got me for over 100k in pay.

Hi all,

Our club had its meeting yesterday to set all the Cruise and Entertainment events for 2022. I talked with the C&E director about our gathering, and he was all over it. I would like to have a get together at the club at the end of your cruise down the Snake from Lewiston. We can either just meet at the club and order pizzas or hike about 1/4 mile to Ice Harbor Brewing. That might be a better bet because they have a varied menu and great beer, wines and hard stuff for you rugged types.

As I said before, there is ample truck/trailer parking on the island right near the club and no problem with docking the boats at the club overnight.

If a date has been picked for this wild, wild west rodeo let me know so I can pencil it into the club's calendar and also to make sure it doesn't conflict with any other event.

Mike

Mike,

I was just logging on to see if there was any activity and I was running through dates in my head to see what might work. I would suggest leaving the Friday or Saturday AFTER Labor Day Weekend, but I don't have a real reason for that day or weekend. We could leave on Tuesday after Labor Day or ??? It might take most of the day to drop the boats in at Lewiston, drive the trailers to Kennewick and then drive BACK to Lewiston. Any others want to chime in and suggest a start date for the cruise? This cruise can be done in one day, but I'm thinking more along the lines of 4 to 6 days at a more leisurely pace. I know we can moor at a few marinas, like Boyer Park and Lion's Ferry. Other places would be anchorages along the way. I'm fine with dropping an anchor anywhere. Just below Boyer Park and Marina are the Dunes visited by many sparsely clothed co-eds from WSU. Other's might have stops along the way they'd like to add and we can definitely accommodate those. I did a quick estimate of the length and if my old memory serves it was around 150 miles depending on the starting point in Lewiston/Clarkston.

Thanks Mike for thinking of us and the generous offer to moochdock at the club facilities. I do agree that Ice Harbor would be a great place to hang once we arrive. We could also do a quick trip around the Tri-Cities if folks wanted to spend anytime there as well. The free docks with power up by Anthony's and the mudhole at the confluence come to mind.

Thoughts?

I think you're spot on with the schedule you suggested. 4-6 days is just about right. There's another good spot to drop the hook and it's a cove about 1/2 mile above LO MO on the north/west side of the river. You mentioned the Mudhole near the confluence. I can't count the number of times we overnighted there. If the wind is howling there are at least 2 cables sunk in the rock there. You can take a stern line to one of those cables and that will keep you from swinging on the hook.

I think we need a headcount to see who is planning to join this adventure. If everyone who reads this would chime in we'll have a better number for planning.

I just checked the dates you suggested and those would work with the Cruise and Entertainment calendar we put together. No events planned for that time frame.

Put me down for 1 boat/2 "adults". I'm planning on taking as much time on the river as everyone wants. Definitely not going to be a race against the clock!

We'll be there if we can get off work.
Wait a minute, we're retired, so we have those days off.
We'll be cruising upriver so we don't have to pull the boat just to put it back in upriver.
So a meeting spot in Lewiston will be nice.

That's right; rub it in! I would have been retired by then, but I'll be doing another year. Oh, well. 'Just that much more into the kitty.

I know I won't be there. And I'm working on the first flag now. A prototype to see if they are going to work stitched out. I might have to take the fabric over to a guy here in town and see what screen printing will run me. I can this for sure, it really pops on the white.

The wife and I are planning to attend. Might even join Wyrman on the upriver cruise! This "Retired" thing is kind of fun!

Youse guys is gonna have waaaaay too much fun. I'm jealous.
Try to con Tina into driving your rig back, then you can ride back down with us! I'm thinking we could pawn you off on each other over the course of a few days while on the water.

Hey man, wha chu sayin? Hell yes I kin affurd $39.95 per day and fur dat I'll pay for da damn gas.
You miss read that. That be $3995.95. Went up $.95 for sassing us. And the only gas included is what you get from the 30 year old can of Beanie Winnies in the cupboard.:D:D:D

Hell! I'll send you the K Rats I have here. Genuine, US GI WWII issue still in the seal box, full Beenie Wienie meal. Might get lucky and have the pack of unfiltered Lucky Strike's in there too. Just have to take a video of you eating it. And what the doctors say at the ER.:D:D:D
