Thanks guys. This wouldn't be a permanent install. Just something to hang/place in the engine room to keep it warm over winter then remove in spring. Still think it needs all the fancy bells and whistles?
Another thing to consider when using something temporary in your engine compartment is to find a way to fish the plug of the device up through a hole so it can be plugged in to a outlet outside the engine room vs. running an extension cord and leaving the plugged connection inside the engine compartment where a spark could happen.
On my previous 260DA I ran the cord from my xtreme bilge heater up through a hole where a water line was run to the helm wash sink and I just happened to have a plug in the cabinet so it was very convenient.
