No sure where you are located. If near Michigan, I would remove it and bring it to Mid Michigan Fiberglass or Envision Boat Works. You could probably ship it to them too. They are phenomenal!

It’s confirmed the generator will NOT come out of my 1998 290 Sundancer W/5.7 with port engine in place! Even with manifold, remote oil filter and power steering reservoir moved.

That's actually a pretty good price for that prop. That prop is MUCH bigger than most aluminum props (being a Bravo II). Mercury's props (in this case, under the QS brand) are known to be very good props (better metal, more "exacting" build quality, etc). You can probably find less expensive, lesser name props, though. But you shouldn't compare the pricing of a B2 prop to "normal" props.
I love that it will be an OEM QS prop, I guess I just didn't know that B2 props were so specific, and if I ever needed to find a cheaper prop, it seems not many other companies make them in that size.
You are right in that there isn't a huge selection of B2 props out there. The B2 is an EXCELLENT drive - but once the B3 gained popularity the B2 sort of went by the wayside. Regardless, it is a very stout, reliable drive and offers A LOT more bite/push in the water than a regular drive like an Alpha. Even the gears inside the drive are massively larger than the Alpha.
