Official 370 Sundancer thread

For anyone who keeps the heat on to run throughout the winter but has to deal with freezing temps. I added the two valves with bleeder ports to hot and cold lines that supply the outside of the boat. This lets the swim shower, outside sink, hose bib, and shore supply to be blown out. While keeping all inside working
Love it!

Have you ever replaced your wiper blades? any idea what Kind to get?

Or if anyone here knows what model i need for a '95

Thanks!
Nope, mine don't work at all at the moment, they're a bit of a mess, and after taking a wave over the top today, I'm kinda thinking about working on them too...

Looks like we're in the same boat on that one. One of the starboard wiper arms is loose and the wiper doesn't stay straight. I think it's an easy fix though I think it's a bolt that needs adjustment.

The main concern for me is the blades, I want to get nice new big suckers. Let me know if you find out anything. If you get caught in a squall it makes a huge difference with visibility.

Took one over the bow? Must have been a big wave I think Ive only had that happen once or twice.

Mine are basically corroded away and barely hanging on, wiper motors don't work either and I've not looked into why yet.
Think it will be a complete replacement.

Haha more like big winds than big waves luckily, but regardless it was still a lot of water up and over with no visibility

Thanks guys!

I just ran port engine.. It's about 40f here and it took a bit to start. One thing that sucks about the carbs I guess. She always goes eventually once warmed up starts instantly.

Ran the water for about a minute. Still stone cold. I went down into bilge and I can see the heater hoses running off the block and going towards the cabin.

I'm going to pull the seats up and have a look at the heater and see what's going on down there. Maybe it's a valve that is switched off or something?

Good to know about generator thats where I'll start. Is the fuel pump hard to get to?
Good advice. I have a Kohler that was giving me hell to get running but when I pulled the fuel pump and removed the hose nipples on each end, I found this in one of them.

That's what a marine generator technician would call "problematic." :)

What the hell is that?
It's a bunch of salt and an impeller fin. The impressive part is that the fin had to work its way through the hose nipple at the bottom of the fuel pump and then get stuck in the one at the top of the fuel pump. That's some serious pressure as I can't easily force it through with my fingers. That hose nipple bolt at the top is where I found it. So water flow through the heat exchanger (which is north of that) would have been drastically reduced. Frankly, I found salt everywhere in this thing when I first started troubleshooting it. Runs like a dream now.

Wow, that is crazy

Indeed. The previous owner of the boat had simply barely used the generator. I'm just over 290 hours after almost 14 years. I replaced both fuel pumps, filters, hoses, relays, sensors, drive sleeve, impeller, fuses. Cleaned out every elbow and fitting, slip rings, etc. Luckily, mostly cheap parts and elbow grease. Took me many hours of fix one thing, find the next thing until I finally got it purring. Satisfying to have temporarily defeated it. I now know the Kohler error codes chart by heart. Salt is the devil and impeller fins are its spawn.

My 2000 genny is almost at 1400 hours. I was happy, knowing it had been used. An unused genny in a boat, is gonna be issues imo. Glad you got her running right!

how many CO monitors do you have in your 370DA? I have a 2010 and just replaced the old CMD4 with CMD5 (with an extra relay) but wondering why we only have just one in there. any of you added more?

In my 1998 370 DA, I did same as you (new CMD5) and also have a battery powered smoke and CO in the cabin. Without the battery powered smoke and CO alarm there is no smoke alarm on this boat to detect fire. Perhaps in newer boats they include a smoke alarm?

I bought a smoke detector at the dollar store. It had a label on it saying " For best results, hold directly over flame"

I’m in a 38DA, but 2007, and there are were/are 3 CMD4s. Stateroom, salon, aft sleeping area. Just ordered the 5s the other day. They were the relayed versions so this includes a Genset shutdown. Surprised your 2010 only has one for sure.

2007 here. No factory smoke alarm. Had to add one. Of course I added it to the salon and then realized Coast Guard regs require one in the stateroom. So now I have two.

my point exactly, I saw that 380DA have 3 !!! so I was wondering if I am missing a second one on mine, but can't find it anywhere :) what fire alarms did you get for yours ?

I don't know what you guys run but I have 3 of the battery powered combo CO/Smoke alarms linked below on my boat. These are in addition to the two hardwired CO detectors I've got.

Cheap, reliable.

There is nothing quite as glorious as being out on a "raft up day" with a bunch of boats, time to leave, all the boats fire up their engines and you have FIVE CO detectors going off in unison. Truly fantastic, would recommend.

Falcon370, I need to replace my CMD Xintex CO Detectors, can you tell me where you sourced them from?
