Open or closed where your from

On another note, a guy there bought a big Four Winns 358 last fall and is selling his Rinker EC280 with trailer. Nice boat. He said it's in Sandusky now with the broker. I know a little about it but not much. PM me if you are interested and I can give you some info. It has a dark blue hull.

If I'm a betting man, it's a white 358?

Things are hit and miss in Indiana. My storage place is open, was up there today bottom painting. We can't enter the store or the mechanics shop, however you can call and speak to them and they will leave the parts on the door step if you need anything. You can't be on your boat with a mechanic. But boats are being launched and work is being done. It almost seemed like a typical spring Saturday today.

Quite a few folks working on their boats outside and taking off shrink wrap. I'm inside and no one else was in my building while I was there. There are a handful of boats in my marina as well as others around me. Showers and restrooms are closed. We have self service fuel pumps so no issues getting fuel or a do it yourself pump out.

A few service places, including the Sea Ray dealer are closed and you cannot access your boats while they are closed - thru May 5th and maybe longer depending on what happens next. Go a few miles down the road into Michigan and like others have said, everything is closed up.

I heard a Michigan garden shop say they are open just not the big box stores gardening centers like Walmart or Lowes.
All garden shops are classified as non essential and therefore subject to the closure order.

The covid sure shows you where the over reach of authority or the stupidity of others is coming into play. So far Ohio still is making sense.

I haven't seen it yet. They bought it at the end of the season (September maybe?). They didn't put it in the water after it was shipped here. I think they bought it in NY though.

I was at LKN yesterday - nice day to be on the lake. Not crowded at all, marina only put a few boats in yesterday. Mecklenburg county has closed all the boat ramps so I think that maybe contributed to the smaller crowds. It was also a little cooler yesterday. LKN covers several counties, so there are other boat ramps still open. It is concerning, though, how much longer can places like my marina keep going. They have the marina which generates revenue from annual storage and slip payments, so that's good. But, they are doing much less service work, not selling gas except to slip holders and the sales department/showroom is closed. I understand the need to manage the health side of this, but it is heartbreaking to watch what were strong/healthy businesses slowly wither away. It is scary to learn how fragile our economy is, even the strongest companies cannot sustain for long without revenue.

I heard on another forum a guy that is a pilot for Delta - don't know this for fact, but sounds pretty close - said pre-crisis their daily revenue was about $130m against $70m costs. Right now daily revenue is $4m agains $10m costs - I'm not an economic genius, but I can do that math real quick. It's not just Delta, it goes on and on.

Anyhow, a pretty day on the lake makes you forget all this, but only for a few hours.

in other words the cure may be worse than the disease

Most all boating ramps and Marina's are open in the clearwater, Fl, had a great day on the water yesterday. There are extra rules... No more than 10 people per boat and boats must stay 50ft apart, some Marina's are operating with reduced hours, etc. All in all, it's better than sitting at home!

There's a store near us that deals ONLY with garden stuff (well, plus some knick knack crap that women love). We drove by the place yesterday and it was packed. Parking lot jammed, lots of people walking around. You'd never know that our illustrious gubner had issued any closure orders.

i have mixed feelings about this. Two acquaintances have had bad experience with it. One still recovering at home after two weeks on a respirator but totally exhausted and the other one died, all in the past two weeks. One is in his 40s and the other was 79.

Lake Powell,
All ramps closed. If you are a slip owner you can be on your boat but they don’t want you leaving the marina. Pump out dock and fuel dock open.

Me being me. Left the slip last Monday stayed on the lake for five days. Only saw one other boat the whole five days. Now back at the slip. there biggest reason for not wanting you to leave the slips is if you get into a emergency situation the marina or park services don’t have the staff to come help you.

We are hoping that this relaxes after Easter weekend as I feel the state just didn’t want people coming to the lake.

We have been on the boat for two weeks now planing on staying until end of month.

We have use this time to get all spring work done. Airmark is still operating as it is winter hours and staff. All employees are only working 30 hrs a week. The park service is also operating as it is winter and staffing is low.

They are only renting house boats if you had a reservation before the country shut down. We tried to rent one for the month of April so our kids could have a place to stay and they wouldn’t do it.

as for the social distances at the lake in the two weeks we have been here we have only seeing 20 people if that and out of the 20 I would say half are employees.
Don’t know if it is irresponsible of me or not being here however I feel more self distancing here than if at home..

SeaTow has emailed that they are still available in NC. They dock at my marina so I have seen them going in and out on a regular basis.

For most non-health issues SeaTow or Tow Boat US is all you need. The local FD water boat is still operating.

I had a friend on a ventilator as well. He's recovering, but it was close. But I have more friends, business owners, on the verge of loosing their life savings. I have 25 employees who are weeks away from being laid off. Now I am not saying "open up" and let everyone die. But there has to be some balance. The city isn't the suburbs which isn't the rural towns. Open up with proper precautions -- masks, sanitizing, limiting people per sq. ft. etc. I drove by a local hospital yesterday (exurban Chicago) -- it had maybe 5 cars in the parking lot, it looked closed. That's in an area with 77 confirmed cases. We can't think ticketing people alone in the part is the way to resolve this.

And I have 2 separate friends that just for the hell of it got tested (Over 65) and came back positive. No symptoms at all. Currently in quarantine and will be retested later this week after the two week mark. Who knows how many people are out there like them...

I guess we are fortunate to have a Govenor that loves the outdoors. The Corp of Engineer ramps are closed, but the state ramps are all open. All marinas are open and practicing social distancing. No cash sales, must have a card. Was a great weekend to be on the dock/lake. Few people, quiet, and never turned on a TV. You can almost forget what we are dealing with now.....wish a rapid recovery to all....

New York, Lake Ontario. Ramps are closed, and that's how we get the boats launched, so I'm still in storage.

Open, and supposed to splash Monday unless the Gov changes the plans. The storage sheds are closed to the public however. I'm glad I got the work done on the outside in Feb. Since work and schools are still closed, we plan to spend all next week on the boat.
