Our first vacation

We made it to Browns today... we had the best waitress just insanely funny. I wanted to take her home and she wanted to come :) but my wife gave me that look :eek:
I know my pic sucks.... very cool place and completely packed when we got there on the dinghys

Beautiful place. I toured that 2005 420 on the left today. Blow it up a bit he made the roof polycarbonate one piece down the side.... makes a big difference standing in the cockpit. He also put in hardwood floors just gorgeous. The nicest couple

We are out of here tomorrow .. the people here at North channel yacht club have been incredible. The lady running the bar offered me her house when I am up in Michigan working..... just over the top nice people.
She did vet me though hard core I felt interrogated... I even showed my drivers license... too funny. Just great people

Made it out of NCYC despite the wind. Made our way to Jefferson beach marina for a pump out. $20 what the heck that sucked.... but didn’t really. For $20 it better suck really good. Stayed for lunch at water mark.

Got to milliken downtown Detroit and could smell something burning. I thought it was the city but turns out the grid heater was on... even with the engines off.... not a good system. I will pull them both out after we get back

I am not sure about this Milliken place downtown Detroit. Wife wants out in the morning. Teddy fell in by accident between the boat and dock.... a guy on the boat next door says they should call protective services .... I went after him who said it and he went in the boat and wouldn’t come out.... this boat had 25 people on it.... just a gong show
When you hear sirens all night and have needle boxes in the bathrooms it’s probably not my place.

Today we got invited to ride in the parade. That was a cool experience. Couple of pics of pre staging… Later one of the bars sponsors drinks afterwards..... never a dull moment on the island

You know that boat was interesting… there was a woman on the back doing exercises ….as I walked by I interrupted her and said hello…she was very nice and I said we just got here just saying hello….she said she is in the middle of a fitness podcast and you just said hello to 20,000 people on the internet…. I stepped back and said I don’t like cameras….. She laughed… you just don’t know these days. I think we have to assume we are being filmed every minute by someone

Blueone, we have talked with the people in that large Chris Craft before. They are seasonal at that slip. I think I know the boat you had the issue with (about your puppy falling into the water), I am not too surprised if it is the boat I think.
We typically enjoy Milliken St Harbor, but we go with a larger group of boats and enjoy walking down the River Walk with our group, back behind the gate by dark!!!!

The boat beside me in the pic. The owner I talked to he seemed nice. But you get 25 people on a boat and someone is going to show off in front of his friends.
There was a park night girl there I assumed watching the place. She was letting her friends in off the street to use the bathrooms and I mean a lot of people. The bathrooms on the marina side were trashed/moldy ....on the outside where anyone can use them they were really clean. There was a lot of homeless there. My wife had a ongoing conversation with one who liked the dog. Nothing bad happened more of a sad situation.

I know I know don’t make it political…. But made a new friend today. His wife said people were buying him drinks all day….I tried but he was leaving. I have a hard core Democrat good friend….so needed a pic to mess with him :)

Catawba... Might swing over in the Whaler tomorrow &/or Thursday between rain drops. Heading to KI Friday with the big boat for the weekend. I'm sure PIB will be busy this weekend
