Raymarine to Garmin

I am making some C80 to 943xsv adapter plates to easily convert from C80 to Garmin. If you buy the stuff from us I'll send you an adapter for free to be a beta tester for fit and send us some photos.

We did already Jim, I believe you're fabricating my adapter plate as we speak. ;)

I am glad I read this thread. I have the original C-80 setup, with Autopilot etc. Sometimes it works other times when I set the heading it turns me around. I boat on a relatively large lake...32 long and 2 at the widest point. I do like the autopilot to keep me straight but other than that not really much need.
So after reading all of this and not really any qualified techs in my area, I think I will just live with my current.
I do enjoy reading the posts though.

Just to circle back on my progress, today I removed the C80 and power cable, opened up some wire bundles and chased both the NMEA 0183 and sea talk cables up the helm. Turns out both run side by side to the point where a rudimentary junction was created. I just wound up and secured the sea talk cable for now, and tapped the 0183 cabling. Originally configured, Sea Ray used only the 2 transmit legs from the Raymarine to distribute GPS position infomation to the VHF and eventually to the early VV monitor. The Garmin transmits successfully to both of those through the 0183 so that's a small win. While under and in the helm I built a NMEA 2000 gateway and will network the Garmin to that now with room for expansion in the future.

It turns out I've got 2 SmartCraft 4 port junction boxes stacked one on top of the other and each junction has one port available. Several have suggested installing the SC to 2000 components. I've done some quick searching on the Mercury website, is there a "Y" cable to take info from each junction into a single plug to then hook to the 2000 converter? Or am I looking at buying 2 separate converters and hooking them both up to the new network?

Thanks!

EDIT to add: Or, how about an 8 port SC junction? I'm unsure if being DTS effects anything on the SC networking.

Follow-up to my follow up, I called Mercury support today. I was really hoping they'd be able to point me in the right direction, especially based on the the threads here about how helpful they were to others.

Maybe I caught them on the wrong day, all I got was you'll have to contact your local dealer and have them install whatever harnesses and the NMEA 2000 gateway.

Oh well.....

Yes, the "y" connector or what they call "dual wake" adaptor will work for your system. That plugged into your ports and the other end mated to the vessel view 2K adaptor should be what you want.

Thank you, I assumed but it's always nice to get some confirmation.
