Should you buy a gun or not?

I bought this one about a week ago.
I wanted something a little smaller than my 40 cal.
It's a Kimber micro 9, and even though I have a conceal carry permit, I still have to wait 10 days.
Gotta love this state.

In cleaning out the garage, I found a couple of powder cases from a gun I used to shoot. Car keys provided for perspective. Can anyone identify the weapon?

what is that Woody?
The handgun is one of the many Buckmark variations, .22. It's a real good shooter but not in the same class as my S&W 41 or my ruger single six. My ruger single six must have been the best of the days run or something, I was lucky in getting it. It's as capable as the model 41 target pistol.

The rifle is a winchester mod 61 pump .22, another tack driver

I was going to velcro this little .25 to the underside of my bikes gas tank...never did do it though.

I’m still debating getting a Glock and my CCL. I’ve taken several private classes recently but I still worry I might use it.

just got back from the range. The Kimber is a nice gun. I was more accurate with it at 21' than a 38special snub noose I pack. However took the old Mark II and I must say its night and day.
I’ve got this same gun. I love looking at it, but hate shooting it. I shoot it enough to stay fresh with it, but no more than that. I did find that a houge grip improved shooting tremendously. But you would lose your laser, I think.

Mine has it, the grip is thicker and felt better in my hand. It is a great less than 20' gun.

My wife was kind enough to gift me a full membership to a local indoor range for Christmas. Unlimited range time, I just supply the ammo. Unlimited use of their fleet of rental guns as well, I just have to buy ammo from them. She just asked that I go weekly and take some of their self defense/tactical handgun classes. I already knew I loved my Tauras G2C 9mm, and I have been able to take the time to really zero in the sights. What I didn't know was that I HATE my Ruger EC9S. It is all over the place. Shoots low one time then high and right the next and so on. However between the two the Ruger is easier/more comfortable to carry IWB. So I am searching for its replacement. I will avail myself of the range's wide selection of rental hand guns to narrow down my selection. I like the looks of the Kimber, but I am afraid it is too small for my hand. I want to stay with 9mm though, it makes bulk ammo purchasing easier. Both of my boys have 9s.
I do have an EAA .45 that I keep around for home defense. It is a direct copy of the CZ 75 with a polymer body. It is not the most fun to shoot, but the stopping power makes it worthwhile.

Do any of you guys mod/build your own guns?

I’ve built a few polymer80 guns and one 1911 so far. It’s another fun/expensive hobby.

I’m currently working on making a set of carbon fiber grips for my 1911 but that’s in the very early stages at the moment. Printing a few different designs first. Once I get a design that I like I’ll use it as a mold. That’s the plan at least.
