The Official 450 Express Bridge Owners Club

Btw, I think there are apps to use an image, outline the boat hull, and snap in a color. Sherwin Williams has one for home interiors I used about 7 yrs ago to achieve the look we wanted on a wall and a tray ceiling. Maybe such apps can also paste in artwork. Call it "hull-art"!
Jack, feel free to use the "Custom Captain" artwork that I posted on the first page. You can plug the picture into MS Paint and add color wherever you want. Here is the original:

Here are a few that I played with.

Very cool. Guess I like blue best of your renderings. Year old pic but captured morning sun hitting it from my dinghy.

Lol, pretty awesome! Wonder of an aqua color like this one, very Key West.

I darkened up the blue on your boat, raised it up and added a black stripe:

That was just an aqua color example of a boat I saw in Key West. You're good at this!

Here is another 450 that was listed for sale that I was able to get the HIN# to add to the register. Listed at $229,000.

I have thought about some alternatives to my impossible to reach bolt hole, but nothing seems to be viable. Any ideas out there other than moving the sump to where it should have been in the first place? I often think some retired Sea Ray engineer loves reading some of these posts on CSR as he laughs.[/QUOTE]

Just dove into this project this past week, Not fun. What I did notice was the floors. Looking to replace all the interior carpet this off season. Product and dealer would be greatly appreciated. If you did the work how much flooring do I need to order??

My interior salon floor is hardwood in good condition. Carpet elsewhere is not. On my like to do list. Btw, gents, I see two 450EB's on yachtworld in DE and MD listed at $229k, one a 2002, other 2003.

I was thinking of using my left over LVP from our house. 100% water proof and it looks amazing. As far as how much, I haven't measured. I see the stairs, the area on the side if the master bed, and the sides if the floor as the challenge. Actually thinking of hiring the guy who did my house. He was really good and got the whole house done we no seams.

Sub Guy,
I wish I had that information for you. A couple of owners before me had the floors done and spent 11k. I have tried to contact them, but they haven’t responded to me yet. I believe it is marine laminate. Here is a picture of the flooring under the dinette.

We have some good friends who own a 57’ McKinna who hated the carpet on their boat. They hired the guy that did their house to do the work. They said the marine guy’s quote to was triple the cost of the house guy.

Jack, the 229k DE boat is “Searenity” that I just posted. It is listed by the same broker that sold the NY boat that was listed at 279k recently.
The 229 MD boat “Pura Vita” has been on the market for a while. I have both of them in the registry on page 1.:)

My dinette carpet and step is snap-in. Took it out and shampooed on the dock. SR carpets suck but living with it for now. Have snap down carpet covers but they look stupid. Generally speaking, I think carpet on a boat is undesirable. But, my 25' Sea Ray Sorrento (Sundance style) has indoor/outdoor charcoal color carpet in the cabin. Cockpit had same when we bought it 12 yrs ago, very hot on bare feet, and I replaced it with snapincarpet.com product, like a berber type, lighter color, 5 sections, lasting me all this time. I can take it out and shampoo on the dock. Much much cheaper alternative to flooring of any type, and diy. Mmm, might ponder that approach for my 450 SR's. Being snap-down, wouldn't need separate pieces for the floor hatches on fwd two SR's floors, just one piece each SR floor and "hallway" too. My Sorrento cost me $600 at that time. Came with a snap tool and snaps to install snaps and studs where I wanted. Snap tool had to be returned in 3 weeks.

We are back in Catalina for the holiday weekend side tied with a friend from the club in his 441 Meridian. I believe Brunswick bought out Meridian and later killed the brand. I think his boat was built at the Palm Coast plant. It’s a lot taller than the 450EB but we have more beam.

Taller, narrower, reminds me of a Carver aft cabin with cockpit above, multi levels viewed back when focused on the 450EB. I actually like the lower elevation & wider beam of our model. Ours with flybridge not even that much taller than fancy inside helm station speedster yachts.

I would like to do it DIY. The marina quoted 5K just for the galley!! I would hate to see quote for the whole interior. I might go after quote from home flooring company. My biggest fear is the special angles along furniture and corners of the staterooms! PATIENCE will be the key.

Now to find a flooring the Admiral likes for her FLAG Ship!
