The truth about wearing a mask -finally

So your posts are in jest and we should not take them seriously, got it thanks for the confusion

Just think - how many cases of the seasonal flu could have been prevented by wearing a mask!!!

Please note the many exclamation points...

Seriously thought, at what point will all the over sanitation, isolation and germ avoidance backfire? Eventually the masses immune systems will be weakened to the point a common cold will take you out....although, that said....take out the comorbidities, covid has a pretty darn high survival rate!

I can't see what Trump has to say about his experience if he's released back to the White House tomorrow.

You are certainly wound up tight tonight almost panic mode. Perhaps you need to step back and think about masks and read about the recommendation from the CDC. Your link to New York is a good one on why masks are needed outside in areas where social distancing is not possible. Wearing a mask at a drive though is a good idea.

You are too easy to get going! My original comment was in jest... the masks are a joke!

That said, look at the mask mandates! How are they not 24/7. In Illinois, the latest mandate has you wearing a mask in your car as you go through a Drive Thru!

Look at this article for NYC - how is this not 24/7??

Ah I get it. Damn good thing it was a joke skippy, I was beginning to think I was corresponding with a moron. But you’re not a moron, just someone who wants to inject stupid comments in a serious discussion. I guess that makes you what? A dooshnoozle? Hah, I can joke too, so you’re not a dooshnoozle.

I’m going to quit responding to you. I feel it’s not right to try and hold a conversation with someone who is unable to express logical thought. What’s the fun of having a battle of wits with someone whose not even half armed?

So to quote Jane Lynch, “You are the biggest loser!” Don’t get your undies in an uproar, I was just joshing you, or was I? Nighty night Nimrod. Let’s see if you can look up the reference.

That said, why stop the masks after covid? As Henry said, Asian countries have been doing it for years.

I was in Korea, Japan and China a lot in the 80's on business and you saw people wearing masks then. There is no law that says they must but I guess their health is more important to them than arguing about not wearing a mask.
The CDC says masks can reduce the speed of Covid-19 to zero as stated before read their link

If masks and social distancing work - why is NYC getting ready to shut down schools again??

I feel sorry for those kids, being deprived of in person school. In Indiana, my kids have been back, at in person school 5 days a week, since late July. COVID is not being spread at school and those who have been positive have been found to catch it outside of school.

COVID must be smart and affecting NYC much more than the "fly over states".

One would have thought this was common knowledge, especially to the great minds at the CDC who originally said no masks!

Some people get sick much more often than others. My wife will get sick 2-3 times a year and it's been years since I've been sick...

The CDC said no to mask originally as there were not enough masks for first responders. Now that masks are available they updated their recommendations in JULY read their web site the majority of your questions can be answered there.

That’s bull crap. We could have made underwear masks early on just like we made them when they changed their mind.

Wearing a mask at a drive though is a good idea.

Why? You’re interaction is several feet away. The server is usually behind a plastic screen. The interaction between the two parties is brief.

Just because you don't believe it who cares it was stated by the CDC

Brief like how all the people that Trump has contact with and gave them Covid-19?

This is where critical thinking comes in. The CDC may have "stated" it, but their statement is full of chit.

So you haven't been able to explain why wearing a mask at a drive thru is "a good idea."

I'm wondering how Sen. Thom Tillis got covid at the Rose Garden event while he was wearing a mask??

never before have WHO and CDC ever recommended mask wear for a respiratory disease. This only came about after social media busy bodies started trying to push their will on to other people. And that is why the CDC changed their recommendation, and no other reason.

Mask wear in non sterile environments does not reduce transmission enough to force it on the public and when coupled with the dangers it can promote it’s not worth it.

Hey, I been thinking.....if they make us wear a mask all the time, it would mean when we are swimming we'd be waterboarding ourselves:eek::rolleyes:

Mike,
When and from where did you receive your medical degree? How long have you been practicing and what fields are you board certified?

No? See now I personally take medical advice and instruction from actual MDs and not some guy who probably barely got through high school science class as evidenced by your comment about the CDC. Eight months ago nearly nothing was known about this disease. Of course instructions are going to change as more becomes known. Instructions may even counter previous ones. Its unfortunately how the learning process works.

Please reconsider your position, the rest of the medical community does not agree with you.
