We don't watch much T.V aboard except the few nights we stay over tied up to the slip, local channels only... we're not interested in cable.

We can't get more then 2 or 3 local channels 9 AND 11
we would like to get 2,4 5,13

When we click on a station the TV screen reads NO SIGNAL, OR WEAK SIGNAL.

Is there a reception booster or something i can hook up behind the TV to help with the signal???

We have a GLO MAX factory Antenna, there is a GLOMAX Switch in the rear of the T.V That has different settings

not sure if that would help..... DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT...

Bill,
I believe that is the gain control for the antenna. I think you rotate it clockwise to increase the gain, but I will let someone else on here confirm that. I also think you need to have a digital tuner on your TV or a digital converter. I was reading sferuson ( Scott ) saying that the digital Glomex arial is the same as the analog, only added a sticker to it.

I know from my past experiences it is tough getting reception out here on the island without a dish or cable.

Bill, Todd is right! It's like when we all switched over to a Digital signal with our home tv's! You need the same Digital Box!

The T.V. is brand new...Digital ready etc Samsung...

Turn gain control full clockwise, set TV to antenna (not cable) and then have TV scan for available stations. Be sure your coax connections are all tight. Mine were not when I got my new boat and reception was very poor.

Check the GLOMEX dome to be sure it is connected to the cable, every year when they shrink wrap the boat they remove the dome and break the cable connection. When the shrink wrap is removed they just put the dome back with the cable disconnected.

i would check the antannae connection.
i have a new[er] samsung and i get a fair amount of channels including the ones you are looking for

I have the same situation, with a new TV and new antenna. I get at best 7 channels, and none of which I want to watch. You may want to try a small signal booster from Radio Shack, and return it if it doesn't work. With digital reception, it's all or nothing. With the old system, you can watch a low signal channel, if you don't mind the snowy picture quality. Now, the TV's block out any channel that isn't strong enough to provide the all digital reception.

Thanks John, i'll try that next time i'm at the boat :smt001

Thats right, when i had no reception i had that checked and discovered they just pulled off the dome and never gave it anther thought, since i've had it fixed so i know that's ok, I'll play with the TV tools and see what i can adjust.

When I bought my 2008 Dancer they told me that the TV and Antenna were both digital capable and ready for the cutover. I could never get either to work properly. After some haggling they installed a new TV but left the antenna and still did not get any channels.

To get it to work I bought a new Shakespeare 2025 SeaWatch antenna which is supposed to be far superior to the Glomex and I also bought a Digital Signal Amplifier, one like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Bi-Directiona...ter-Passive/dp/B000WDR94U/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_c

I also found that there were shorts in some of the factory coax which interfered with the signal. I just replaced the connectors there. (That is probably not an issue for you since you receive some channels).

After I did that I get between 20 and 30 channels depending on where I am on the lake.
