What is sad along with interesting is if you go back a couple of years and look at some of the earlier posts, things were much different. I just went back and looked at jg300da's posts from 2006 - 2007 frankly just wondering "where did this sh!t go south?" He joined and had meaningful and nice dialogue with a lot of people (even sent a rod holder to someone). But here's the thread that "changed everything":
http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3927
It started with the whole "big boat guys" vs "little boat guys" with me discussing how I don't like 5 dock hands jumping on my boat when I pull into a marina... Heck.. Even the conversations with KEARNEY were cordial... But it took this twisted turn of "you should feel lucky for what you got" attitude. Then there was the followup thread:
http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4027
Stuff started going downhill after that... like this:
http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5485
I'm not posting these threads to get in anyone's face... just trying to figure out what drove so much hatred/bitterness. His first crack at FrankW was during that time.
I even went back and looked at the first "bad" exchanges with kearney and w1ngless. Kearny got upset because he stated that wi-fi didn't work well in a boat because of the rocking motion and I asked him if his boat was rocking at 2.5 MHz. All went downhill and he called me a jackass. With w1ngless, I started a thread on raw water flow sensors and he started riding me about my lack of skills on boat operation and impellers.
Yes.. I have a list of people that are pissed off and maybe I poked a little more than I should of. I don't recall coming out and blasting someone for no reason though... I admit after w!ngless started his "I'm a perfect boater" attitude and putting down my boating skills, I probably went too far with the stuffed duck. But man... it was funny... you have to admit the pot smoking duck was funny... and when the guy kept coming back under different names... well..
There are some strange people out there and I guess some of us had the impression if you had enough resources to own a Sea Ray, you probably were not a psycho... That was wrong. I went back and looked at when that AZ guy first attacked and it was out of the blue because I pointed out that "fresh water" was actually ******** and the AZ guy went ballistic... not just in his post... but started PM'ing me and a few other people about me and how I was going to be his "project". Ignoring him did not make him go away.. it made him angrier.
I'm not posting this to relive all that but I know it creeped me out and a lot of other people when w!ngless posted a picture of my house (I don't recall ever posting a picture of my house on CSR) and my wife got a really creepy letter from Trenton, NJ. No one deserves that.
I don't like a boating board that has "anonymous" people. It doesn't work for me. It may for others... but I prefer to know who I'm talking to. I know a lot of people on CSR outside of CSR... that should not be a surprise to anyone.
I respect this is Jim's site and it's whatever he wants it to be. But it may not be what some other people want it to be and so it's time to move on. I pretty much have a target on my back with a few people and I even posted over here today:
http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26169
And was told I was full of crap (which is fine and I could care less but if *I* say someone is "full of crap", it's a different story).
So... I am just saying this: "Maybe it's time we see other people." Frankly, I like to write and I have a certain style and CSR is probably not the place to put it. So let Jim and crew take CSR where their vision is and maybe I will find a more appropriate venue for my stuff as well. I think there is little hope of repairing the jg300da type of relationships in the forum. I haven't posted much in the past month and look at the crap that is still escalating. It can't be all me.... and I'm pretty sure the AZ guy is back under a different name... it's not hard to figure out.
No hard feelings... and I'll poke in and read about how a single engine boat doesn't hit logs like a twin engine boat from time to time... and maybe answer the occasional fluid dynamics question... I do have a lot of content on CSR with pictures and I think 1000 out of my 7000 posts may actually be useful to someone somewhere.
I did read Uplate's response in this thread and agree with and appreciate what he wrote.
One last thing. Before people start going on about "You need to always be anonymous", take a look at this:

I think certain people enjoy watching stuff like that... I even see in this thread the comment of "ego's and promoting blogs." I'm not really sure my "ego" drove my blog... it was just fun to write and that thing had over 10,000 unique visitors to it... what's wrong with that?
Anyway...
Carry on.
