What about those of us who tow to the water? Lets see your tow rigs.

Just bought this truck, Dodge RAM 2500 Diesel. Should tow the 270 DA just fine.

Thanks!

My wife is flying to Houston on Monday to pick it up.

The truck was bought to tow the boat.

My wife pointed out to me that the truck cost more than the boat!

I moved up to Washington from Denver, so it wasn't built to tow a boat. I will need to shed some steel for towing a great distance.

Do you guys have any weight ratio restrictions? I can only tow the same weight as my ride - which in my case means 2400kg

Not that I am aware of rcon. Never heard of that.

Guys - you are correct in assuming the bunks are a little short. I balenced the tongue weight and the boat ends up a little further back than I would like. It trailers perfectly so I am looking at just extending the length of the bunks by the foot and a half to cover the rest of the stern. I only trailer to begin and end the season and the ocassional repair. I only need to go a few miles so my expedition is only for these short hauls and works fine for this. If I went further I would use something bigger.
Update for me - So this year I decided to fab new bunks to make sure the whole stern was supported, even though I did not think there was any big risk, but now I will never need to second guess myself. The pics are right after I floated it on and I had not power washed. I used pressure treated wood, glued two 2"x8" and cut the angle on a table saw. I added a 2x4 flat on the bottom and carpeted with home depot carpet and stainless staples. I am 200 dollars into it but happy with the results.

I've got a 2011 Silverado with the 5.3 and HD towing package, rear view camera, and higher axle ratio. (Sorry if the pics are too big, pulled from my photobucket account).

Thinking about ordering some alloy wheels with Goodyear Marathon's, figuring I can switch them out myself?

Any advice or words of wisdom on doing it?
