Our normal usuage is in Friday evening/Sat morning and out Sunday evening with a flush and a thorough wash.

There are occasions where I actually get vacation days and we will have the boat in the water longer.

Well I figured I'd post a couple of pictures of what one week with your boat in the water even with daily use does to your boat bottom and annodes.

NASTY! Good thing though there is Star Brite Bottom Cleaner that stuff is amazing. Makes it come off with little to no effort.

Here is a couple of annode pictures (sorry one is a little blury), but they were litterally flaking away in small flakes.

You should come up to Ga and get in our Brown water, you would have worse than that from Friday evening/Saturday to Sunday afternoon. I pulled my boat to PCB and had it in the water there from Thursday to Sunday and was quite happy that the stain was so little.

Be thankful you don't have to stay in a wet slip all the time!! We need to clean the bottom every month or less!

Yea but you have a nice big boat  That's on my list of things to do before I die.

Actually when asking Marine Max about the 451 Meridian I have my eye on I asked about a lift for it and he said no problem.

Are you guys telling me that the boat is dirty from the water after you use it?

Are you being sarcastic?

Yes 1 week of boat use and I got that scum line. It's pretty nasty and doesn't just rub off without the Star Brite Bottom Cleaner.

Sometimes I have a little bit of seaweed or 'scum' that gathers in the marina occasionally but the water's clear and clean not leaving a residue like that.
I'lll take the brush to it when I clean the boat and it comes off but nothing muddy or slurry looking like your pics.

I was just curious. It looks like you were in a brackish river.

What does one week in Florida have to do with anything? Or should it be one week in brackish or salt water?

It took me about 1/2 hour scrubbing my hull Sunday morning after pulling it out of the water and I had my fair share of little things stuck to the hull. But they came off with a little elbow grease.

Pick up some On and Off. The gel stuff is a little easier on the nose and eyes and it works wonders, gets off the brown in seconds. You can actually watch it changing back to white as you put it on.

Can you spell B o t t o m P a i n t?

I've thought about that but since I try not to go more then a week with it in the water due to not wanting the BIII to start any corrosion I figure it's not worth it.

Ok I said Florida, cause I've seen a lot of posts where people are coming to florida and ask about keeping their boat in the water. Charlottle Harbor has Fresh/Brackish/Salt all in the area of a few miles from where we leave the house and boat if we go north east we end up in more brackish/fresh water but if we go southwest we end up in more salt water. You can definitly see the difference in the water goes from a very tan/dark brown color to a more greenish to then very blue clear water. Where the boat sits at the dock behind the house is in Punta Gorda Isles where 99% of the houses are on a channel leading out to the harbor. Sometimes it's real brackish looking and sometimes it's crystal clear.

I have this sprayer that makes any product into a phone using the garden hose so I just dumped some of the Star Brite Bottom Cleaner in it and started spraying and yes don't inhale or get it in your eyes it sucks. And make sure you have on a shirt yo udon't want. I ruined one

Being in the salt water is a lot of work but in some ways worth it. We overlook the bay at Homeport with bow facing due west and get to see some nice sunsets without leaving the dock. We have been to the Keys many times and the sunsets here are equal IMO. I also enjoy being around the water even if I am working....so it beats mowing the yard or painting the house!

I think I know the Meridan 451 at MM...really nice! Good luck and keep us posted.

It's at the Cape Haze Location, it's an 07 but new and they are asking under 400k at the moment. Still researching it and my options if I was to buy it of where I'd be on my current boat and where I would keep the Meridian.

Don't know if Home Port makes any sense, it is in Palm Harbor just north of Clearwater.

Be sure your mercathode system is working, not smashed from improper ram adjustment like mine, and no cut and taped wires to the senders, and not a " hot" marina ( your nasty neighbors) and no dangling loose ground wires at the drive, (along with the other loose ends like speedo tube disconnected by my survey"mechanic" -he was a pice of......."work" )and get a galv. isolator if it does not have one to save those zincs

You do know that "Meridian" = "Bayliner"...

This "name change" was Brunswick's attempt to get away from the "Bayliner" stereotype.
They can call it anything they want, it's still a "Bayliner". $400K?? Better to buy a used SR (or just about any other make) than dumping money into one of those new. Anyway, didn't Brunswick shut down Meridian last year?
