Is the idle rpm steady on that engine?
Yes, I took this video right after taking one of the exhaust

You can hear it better further away from the boat, in this case standing at the dock, try this video. The water flow looks odd to me as well, like it's surging.

If you rev that engine up are you seeing any bubbles come from under the boat? I almost wonder if something is obstructing or clogging your underwater exhaust. I am around a lot of these boats in my line of work, the water flow and loudness is a little abnormal.
I started running boost and egt sensors. I’m guessing I have the probe in the wrong spot. I’m getting readings in the 50’s in idle at the dock

I haven't reved that engine up yet. I bumped it to 1000 rpms and the whine/whistle continued. I did not think about the underwater exhaust, good point. I'll checked next time I am on the boat.If you rev that engine up are you seeing any bubbles come from under the boat? I almost wonder if something is obstructing or clogging your underwater exhaust. I really only checked the temp at idle didn't go for a long run. I put my hand on the exhaust tube and it was cold. The water under the boat is probably in the 50’s

Going to pull my heat exchangers as both zincs broke in the bonnet. Haven't done it in ages as fresh water flushing them after every run, rydlime prior to winterizing and bore scoping them confirms they are clean as a whistle. That said, did CAT change from two O-rings per side to an O-Ring/gasket combo? My CAT parts guy was confused as SIS shows two different schematics. One with O-Rings only and one with O-Ring/gaskets.. I've always gotten/used two O-Rings per side but the parts guy is telling me I need the O-Ring/Gaskets..
Also, no update on the knock issue. Still waiting for Foley CAT to get back to me to schedule an appointment. They're booked full for at least the next two weeks...Sigh
if you happen to need injectors just a heads up 10R8996 are apparently way back ordered…not sure if that’s the PN you need. I was able to get 5 but the 6th is estimated 68 days out
Still playing the waiting game for them to even come down and diagnose the problem. Foley CAT covers the entire Jersey Shore and spring is their busy season..
Looks like they are remans. Are new N/A or much more $?if you happen to need injectors just a heads up 10R8996 are apparently way back ordered…not sure if that’s the PN you need. I was able to get 5 but the 6th is estimated 68 days out
