Hi All, I just picked up a 99 Sundancer 240 and am looking to fit custom decking, any recommendation from those that have fitted the same to the same boat? There seem to be very few options available once you start scrolling through the various websites.
Are you looking for snap-in flooring or the glue-down kind? That definitely makes a difference in the options you'll have (which are plenty).
snapincarpet.com is generally regarded as one of the best. They will have templates for many Sea Rays. I've used them twice, great experiences all around.
So... carpet... Seadeck... anything at all? Does the boat still have snaps in the floor from the original carpet?
OK, it may have been an option on your boat (originally). Second question... and this helps guide our answers. Are you comfortable making a template and installing snaps in the boat and the carpet (or Seadeck-style stuff)? Or will you have someone install it? How nice do you want it to look? If you do it yourself, it's all on you - and being off by just 1/2" inch will forever look "not so custom". If you're comfortable - great - just mentioning it as a caution.
Corinthian Marine is another option and we are also dealers for them as well as site sponsors. It does look like they have a template for you model but you can also make a custom one. If you want more info feel free to send me you info through our website at www.covemarine.com. -Kevin
Kevin is a good guy to deal with - he'll get you squared away. FYI... order the template printout (lifesize). In most cases, all templates are provided by a previous boat owner. I've done this enough times to know that they don't always do it right. Yes, you'll pay a few extra bucks, but it's well worth it to make sure you get it right. If you "just place the order", then it's on you if it doesn't fit the way you like it. With the template printout, you can make changes right there on it.
