Starting a thread to document my salon floor replacement project as it seems to come up a lot. Our boat is a 2002 410 Sundancer, chances are the project will be similar for other boats of the era
I’ve read the nightmare stories about the carpet removal and quickly realized why. If you just pull it up the carpet falls apart and leaves a ton of crap behind. For example:
Instead, methodically running a multi tool under the carpet while pulling back on it will cleanly release the glue and leaves behind very little residue. I actually think a little sticky glue left behind will be a good thing as I plan to leave the floor floating and will keep the pieces from shifting too much
here’s where I am after about an hour and a half.
