Let's see congress is going to legislate wages. How many trillion is the U.S. in the red? Who gave the bankers 750 billion with any strings attached? Here is an idea let the big three go out of business and all the workers without jobs can move to Alabama. Enough said.

Cruise back to your own thread. : )

Anybody ever leave Dutch Harbor after Halloween and head north for a few months? Looks like fun. Saw something on Discovery...

I think the Polar Star does.

Dude, I think you're in the wrong thread

Well I just found out I didn't get hit by the "involuntary separation" that just went down at my place of employment. So if gas prices stay where they are and I keep my job though next summer, we plan on at least doubling our cruise miles from last year (8-14).

I'm in for at least 4-7 - in the middle of buying a new business so my travel ability may be limited. Will certainly be taking a lot of single night trips in my local area just to get away.

Peter, i looked at google earth and that looks like a excellent trip. what are the nautical miles covered? I'll bet FOUR SUNS would be proud of you!!!

Hello Mitch,

I think the total trip is somewhere between 400 and 450 miles.
We take our time

Peter.

Re: 48 seadan bridge

I own a 2001 480 sedan bridge w/3196 660 hp cats. I would like to know what pitch you are using and what your top speed is with these enjines? Thanks, CPetersen

In 2008 we spent 3+ months going to Alaska from Nanaimo BC. In 2009 we plan on leaving the first of May and returning in September and seeing more of Alaska. No problems with the boat, but it rained most of the time.
Boat 1989 38' Aft cabin, twin 454s. Have put on heating systems that work off the engines and the generator cooling systems, even have heat on the upper helm.

I wish I could do longer trips - but that work thing gets in the way. I have always wanted to do the North Channel and heard a lot of stuffa bout it - but need 2 good weeks. I enjoy more short every-other-weekend type trips - leave Thursday night or Friday AM - do a 3 day trip - across lake or somewhere fun.

I've just joined Club Sea Ray and wanted to say "hi" to everyone!

I'm also looking for a bit of advise from anyone who may be able to help with a prop problem I'm having. I have a 1992 300 Sundancer Sea Ray and after having the outdrives refurbished and one engine rebuilt am having problems getting on plane with my 4-bladed props (15x16). It's been suggested that I try 14.5 x 17, 3-bladed props. Does anyone have thoughts or other suggestions on this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
John

That's why you lost the election....you keep getting your threads mixed up.....:grin:.....sorry...couldn't resist.

Welcome to CSR. I'm going to suggest that you edit your profile to include your boat specifics and location. Then, start a new topic in the correct section. You'll get a lot more attention there for that specific problem.

Welcome aboard.....

On Topic.

Our first cruise in 2009 will be next weekend. We will be cruising back from San Destin Resort to our dock, from which we will be leaving in about 48 hours. Happy New Year!

We just got back an hour or so ago. The cruise was quite nice as was our stay in Baytowne at SanDestin. We socialized, deep-fried 2 turkeys and a game hen at the dock, went out to dinner a few times, watched fire works, rode bikes to the beach, and socialized some more. I received some concert DVDs for Christmas and watched them while playing the music in the cockpit. It was really nice.

The boat was awesome. Treat your boat right, and it should treat you right as well.

While walking the docks, we saw many nice boats. We saw the new 55 and 60 Sea Rays. The 55 is awefully bent up with straight sides (vertically) on the hull. Both have flat, square windshields. A little too odd-looking for me, and wwwaaaaayyyyy out of my military price range.

The plan this year is to use the heck out of the boat. Starting in Early May plan on being out every weekend. Now that I have vacation time saved up plan on taking some uch needed long weekends.

Places I will be

Still Pond
Fairlee Creek
Corsica River
Shaw Bay
South River
Inner Harbor
St Michaels
Herrington Harbor
Thinking of a trip to Tides Inn in Virginia

Thats the plan for now

Craig

When I was in MI, literally every weekend would start on Thursday evening. Me, Amy and Allie would jump in the boat and head somewhere to meet our friends to raft off - sometimes Muskamoot Bay, sometimes Gull Island, Metro Beach, or maybe we'd just go tie up on their dock at their yacht club. We wouldn't call it quits until Monday morning.

Now that we're in FL, it is a bit different - there is such a larger scope of things to do! Bahamas, Keys, etc. It's pretty cool. So far the only planned cruise is out to Key West the week of 3/9 for a guy's trip with my buddies. Other than that, I've seen a few interesting cruises mentioned here on CSR that I am looking in to, such as Port Lucaya.
