Fathers...I need help!

He, your sister here!! What have you done! I'll get you first time I see you ;)

Little sis, (just quessing you're younger) I'd have done the same thing! So don't fuss at your brother

Good luck! I had that meeting with my 2 daughter's boyfriends last month! (they're all a bit older though)

Don't go to Walmart quite yet. You need to start saving for the wedding!!! ;-)

Agree with most of the above. Listen to what he has to say. Listen to how he says it. I seriously recommend the positive reinforcement associated with some very savy delay tactics - you may have to come up with these on your own. Relationships at that age come and go very quickly. You know your daughter. Is she really ready to play house for the rest of her life? At 18? Mine wouldn't make her bed at 18 (and it's not easy at 21 either). By the way, she just broke up with a guy she had been dating for 2 years - Age 19 -21.

My other daughter is 24 and has been dating one guy for a couple of years. She just started a doctorate program in Physical Therapy (golf clap). That is the correct way to do it, IMO. Now, if he was a billionaire, that would be different - it's worth the risk then.

By the way, about the Navy guy that was so successful. He was already that man. The Navy gave him the discipline he needed to move forward in his life. It doesn't work for everybody. We had some real basket cases in the AF.

Bring the gun just give your wife the bulets and clip. Scare him a little. Just place it on the table before the talk. Lmfao im just kidding again

If you go X's way, just make sure that you don't leave one in the chamber! LOL

I have actually cleaned a weapon while meeting one of my daughter's boyfriends. It works very, very well. Also, I give them a smile, shake their hand, and tell them, "Please, call me Mr Hampton - no formalities around here." That works too.

Things went well and he seems to have a good plan. As for the gun, the Afganies have much bigger guns than I and shoot at them often. My 45 means nothing to him, but he knows if he lays a hand on her....all my rounds will be meant for him!

She gets the house and land....youngest gets the boat... House was built in 1780, boat in 1988.... I'm not sure who get the bad end of this deal. Just came back from WM with a new rode and $80 back in the bank. Now if the rain will stop I can get things finished up down here, before my flu bug gets worse

I've told my kids this more than once... I'm leaving you something to help you, make good use of it. I don't want the $$ part of my lifes effort pissed away with no true benefit to show. If I think your going to do this then I'll do it myself before I die and leave you stuck with the funeral bills.:smt043

That's funny. My plan was always to break down my shotgun while meeting prospective boyfriends. But the planning was not needed. Two boy and no girls. It isn't much fun intimidating perspective girlfriends.

Glad to hear it went well but geeze after all that no stories? Nothing? Not even what was discussed? Thats just a tease lol. Im just joking

Yeah, I'm with X on this. Can we get a few more details? Was it about marriage? Inquiring minds want to know (inquiring mindless where X is concerned-LOL)!

My wife and I got married she was 17 I was 2 days way from 21 We both have minimum education both worked hard and have been very secsesful with Gods help. Raised two kids both turned out great without any problems again with Gods help. I Believe work ethic has more to do with it than age.

Her age, her need to go to JMU, him being deployed and his commitment to the ARMY and just when they were planning on doing all this, and death if he ever put a hand on her in anger...that about covers it

Short and sweet like a donkey's trot then:)

Hmm ,do you have a feeling something was left out ,like opps we forgot to mention something?

I'm 5'10" weigh in at 185lbs, my then to be son-in-law was 6'3" and 275lbs. As I was stooped down working on changing a tire this mountain came up to me and asked me for my daughter hand.(no bun in the oven too)

I told him he would be responsible for all her needs and wants and that I would kick his a$$ if he ever hurt her. Told him if he didn't think I could get the job done I'd get some folks to help. They have been married 7 years now and have 2 children. He works EVERY day and my daughter is able to stay home with the kids. I feel very blessed.

I believe your daughter and future son-in-law have taken a positive step in their future by including the rest of the family in this event.
