Just got my winter to do list caught up. It has been a very productive 4th quarter, I can sit back and relax a little bit now. LOL

2023/24 winter To-Do list​

• Fresh water manifold repair/replace. It stopped leaking ???
• New salon carpet. In progress
• Repair/replace fuel sending units. Done
• Install new Lumitec lights in salon. Done
• Ice maker repair (again)
• Compound & polish. In progress (85% completed)
• Gel repairs. In progress
• Sea deck after platform is done Spring install
• Cockpit upholstery. Done
• Install USB plugs at helm sea.t Done
• Clean bilge. Done
• Remove HD antenna Done
• Re-paint speaker rings
• Generator valve adjust: Shane at All Star Marine. Thursday 1/18
• Drawer slide extensions. Done on all drwaers
• Light switches add USB. Done in 3 locations
• Add 120v receptacle at galley. Done
• Rope lighting replacement; galley and stateroom. Done
• Tighten horn bolt at port side horn mount, leaking. Done
• Powder coat chocks and chock tracks at platform. Done
• Replace lock cylinders on GHS lift. Done
• Check fluid level in lift reservoir. Done
• Yacht Solutions electrical check up for Ground fault issue.
• Replace master head pump motor and bellows On order. Completed 12/28
• Install AIS700. Done
• Hot water heater replacement. Done
• Install larger accumulator tank .Done
• Repair Captains seat gas spring. In progress
• Remove and repair under stern cleats where cracked/chipped. In progress
• New floor tiles under stbd. rear seat. Remove old, clean, install new. Done
• Wet sand stbd. side below rub rail from stern to bow. In progress 1/15. Spraying gel 1/16
• Fill snap holes on port/stbd. side below windshield. In progress 1/15. Spraying Gel 1/16
• F-11 entire boat. In progress
• Cockpit carpet to cleaners. Decided to re-template cockpit and order new Aqua weave from Corinthian Marine. Templates arrived at Corinthian 1/15.
• Install new seal on port side dripless.
• Tighten rudder nuts and check packing.
• Check battery levels in January and May.
• Repair LED lighting behind helm switch panel. In progress
• Polish isinglass before launch.
• Tighten last bolt on windlass. Shane @ All Star Marine. To be done 1/18.
• Polish stainless rail around entire deck.
• Final wash and clean up before launch with DI water system.

I wonder what else I can find to do before launch day?? No doubt I will keep looking.

Anyone interested in cockpit table, zodiac survitec 8 person life raft with cradle, or dinghy chocks. Took off bought we just bought and looking to re coup a few dollars from the purchase.

One step closer! They will be done this week with the captains seat and helm seat/backrest. They also decided there are 2 small bolsters that need the horizontal ribbing adjusted to align better, so they took them back to resew. I love their attention to detail!!

Your ambition always impresses me, I have a few updates to do this off season and will post pics soon. We upholstery has been done and wood floors in the cabin area complete.

There's always something to do. LOL
The Admiral asked about new cockpit carpet, so, I made new templates and shipped them off to Corinthian last week. We are going with the Thatch Quartz Aqua weave.

That means I have some 3 year old Corinthian marine cockpit carpet available for sale. It was a really good pattern and fit, so I just copied it to send to Corinthian. It has the Aqualock back and I believe is the thunder gray berber.

The last areas of gel work are now done!! (Well, need to be sanded out, but overall done.)

We removed old snaps along each side of windshield, 3 cleats on stern had bad cracks at mounting holes from years of wear and the transom had a couple of old boat names that were raised and we wanted gone. There was also some sort of ceramic type coating on it that wouldn't allow it to be polished properly and it looked really hazy. We aren't 100% sure exactly what the coating was on the transom and around the cleats but we had to wet sand it all off. The old "raised" letters from previous boat names had to go. LOL

I kept my gel team busy this winter! The last item will be too wet sand the stbd. side below the rub rail and remove years of dock rash and old blemishes/repair areas. Then they will be off to several other boats in Elk Rapids, Traverse City, Bay City and Grand Haven!

New cockpit carpet pieces are all cut at Corinthian. Now just the Sunbrella binding and we are good to go!!

Since there would technically be a lot of waste in our cockpits, I patterned a bunch of other areas to fill the dead spaces from the main carpet areas. I have new pieces for the salon/head cabinet shelves, the compartment next to our right foot at the the helm. The compartment where the fold down seat and platform switch is. A new dock carpet at 3'x2' X 2 pieces. A piece for the galley in front of the sink and under the helm seat.

Corinthian does a GREAT job!!!

Hello 510 Owners! I have been trying to find information on what size dinghy you put on the back? I had a Zodiac YachtLine 340DL that was 11' in length and it fit very well. I am currently looking at the new Yachtlines (360) and the shortest length is 11' 10". I know it does not seem like a lot but has anyone ever tried this size tender on the back? does it stick out too far on either side? Appreciate any input!

My 510’s PO had a 360 Highfield sport with a 49 hp. That dinghy is 11’11” and it fit great!

I actually was at a boat show last week and ordered the exact same dinghy to replace my 340.

Thank you very much! I did some measurements today of the swim platform to figure out how much the boat will overhang. I have attached a picture of my swim platform with a tape measure across where the center of the keel would be. That measurement was 11' 6" to the edge of the platform where the tape measure is laying down. If we are getting a boat that is ~11' 10" from bow to stern of the tubes, it would over hang a bit but the outboard tilted up, makes the overall length even longer...I'm not sure how much but I'm going to call a dealer and ask how far the skeg/prop sticks out when it is about level with the Bottom of the hull. From the edge of the swim platform outward to the edge of the main hull on both sides is approx. 16". I guess that is ok but a little more risky when docking. I would love to hear your previous owners experience with the 360 on the back if you possibly have some way to contact them? I ordered a 2023 Highfield 330 last year new but ended up returning it to the dealer after quite a few disappointments with the dealer and how the boat was delivered and performed. Message me if you would like to hear about my experience with the boat.

The PO is a good friend and I have spoken with him about the fit and ride, which is why I upgraded to the larger dinghy. (well, one reason anyway...LOL). He and I talk regularly. Before popping for the new 360, I called and asked many of the same questions you have, but I also had the privilege of seeing it on the boat for 2 summers prior to buying the boat.

Remember, your beam is 15'6". Also, you will cheat the dinghy on the chocks to the bow side of the dinghy so that the transom is closer to the chock for weight bearing of the motor. Even with the motor kicked up half way (not all the way) it doesn't extend beyond the beam of the boat if placed properly on the chocks.

I notice that your chocks are centered, which is recommended by GHS I'm sure. In my case, the chocks are pushed aft a bit. The stern most chock plate is actually aligned with the very edge of the platform. The dinghy beam is 6' and will come up to the edge of the upper step of the platform so we can get by it easily enough. If I were to move the chock to center, we wouldn't be able to get by it to access the transom door. My dinghy's overall weight is 682 lbs. and the platform supports it perfectly even with it pushed slightly to aft.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the Highfield and your dealer. We purchased our 340 Sport (formerly the DLX) from a great dealer and we went back to him for the new 360 Sport. My 340 looks like brand new still and we were very happy with it, but if I can go bigger Why not???

New carpet arrived yesterday and we are extremely happy with the finished look. Corinthian did a great job matching my templates perfectly!! Although I still have some coverings on the new upholstery, I thought I would share some pics. We made good use of what would have been wasted carpet from the main pieces and filled small compartments. We also made two pieces for the dock at 3'x2' and another for our home at 4' x 2' for our deck.

Now we just need a little lake water!! 91 days, 23 hours and 25 minutes!!!
