ideas on pumpout while boat is on trailer?. I’m far from a marina, called a septic tank company that couldn’t figure it out, was concerned about cracking the plastic tank? Any one use a shop vac? . Any gadgets that could pump directly into a toilet? its A 28 gallon holding tank on a 260 sundancer

You may have better luck with a porta Potti company. They did mine
while on the hard one time.

They have pull up pump out stations for RV's at varies places and some camp grounds. Some service stations have them that cater to RV's.

I've heard several success stories of using shop vacs to get this done. I'd personally buy a bucket vac and forever dedicate it to pooh...

Yes, you "could" use a shop vac... but you need be aware of the exhaust/mist that will be emitted from the shop vac :) Using a shop vac was NOT an option for me - I wanted something easy and mess free to do pump-outs at home.

Rather than re-typing what I've already documented here on this site...

My 240 has the vacuflush with the optional discharge for offshore use. Being on a no-discharge inland lake, the optional discharge was only useful when on the trailer. I made a fitting with a soft rubber ring on one side and an RV waste connector on the other side. That was then attached to a bracket I made so it would jam/seal against the thru-hull fitting on the bottom of the boat, then to a RV waste hose and a Rhino RV waste cart. After emptying the holding tank into the Rhino, I'd dump the Rhino into a sewer clean out port in the yard. No fun, but took less time than the round trip to empty at a marina with a pump out system, plus it could be done between boating trips rather than having the pump-out interruption while out on the lake.

I did the same after reading Dennis' Home Pump Out-Easy. I never had to prime anything. Screw in the macerator, hook up the hose, and turn it on.....empty in 5-6 mins. This was on a 260DA we had on a trailer.

Thanks I do see some similarities with some RV applications, but some differences with gravity and connectivity with cruisers vs Rv’s, watchin a lot of RV macerator videos now, thanks

Yea let me try that , the septic tank guy didn’t say it couldn’t be done, he just has never done it on a small boat,, thanks

This did cross my mind, coming up with a proper fitting seems to be the biggest challenge. Also, Thought about bypassing the sea cock and somehow pump it over the gunnel , but not sure if gravity would prevail.. Let me pursue these angles,,

Yea, shop vac is last resort, I do see a lot of macerator, garden hose systems vids that work perfectly on rv’s, they have bayonet? connections and gravity working in their favor, i need to figure out how to connect something like this to the boat, seems like it should be simple

One year when I had a Sundancer, I got hauled for the season and realized I forgot to get a pump out. The holding tank was mostly full. So I got about a 60-gal plastic storage tote, put it under the thru-hull, and ran the macerator to empty the tank. I forgot to do something with the bin, so it stayed there all winter. Next season before launch, I went to check on it, and the bin was gone. I can only imagine the reaction when someone cracked the lid :D

It IS simple. Read what I wrote in the links I provided :)

Thanks , I’m heading down this path, looking at something called a black water bazooka set up, https://www.blackwaterbazooka.com/ . It’s designed for an RV, but has a marine version. I’m a bit skeptical about the pump being able pump out and macerate against gravity over the gunwale, (this gadget hooks into an Rv at the bottom of the tank- seems to work well in that application). any thoughts?

Louis, will that work better than the 1st way that I did it? I couldn't open the link.
