Sorry for the downtime today guys, The temporary server that was handling the DNS resolution for clubsearay.com decided to have a partial hard drive failure. So we moved the dns over to this server and should be all resolved now.

The reliability of this site is becoming frustrating and disappointing to say the least. I'm not trying to start a "bash CSR" thing, but I spent much time this morning posting a reply to a battery question only to have it lost when the site went down. It's hard to try and add meaningful content to a site like this when the faith of it being up keeps getting worse.

My 2 cents.

CSR might need some velco to keep its butt firmly attached to the internet!

Gary, you should not lose what you are writing for a post when the server goes down. Just copy and paste it into a temp document, and paste it back when the server comes back. I have had to do that several times. I 'assume' this is possible in Windows, I don't know that for sure because I don't use it. And yes I know that can be parsed into ass-u-me.

There are alot of images like when making a post that don't show up.

DNS has been slow for me for many days, or weeks, but it may be my own local DNS server. I know I have seen it on CSR, not sure about other sites I visit. I had been thinking of running my own DNS on my local machine to get reasonable response time. Maybe that wouldn't work for CSR if things are moving around.

I actually got some work done today. Thanks for the down time.

I just turned on DNS caching in my local machine, and so far it has made a tremendous difference. Where before I was waiting 2-5 seconds everytime I asked for something from the site, now the DNS query is so quick that I don't see it. Well, I can measure it with the 'dig www.clubsearay.com' command, and it says it takes 5-6 mSec for the lookup. I'll see if it continues to be a 'good thing'.
