All I have to do is walk through my sub. I used to wear out a couple pairs of flip flops a year. The dailies from Bealls and my "dress" flip flops from Olukai.

My friend's dad and brother used to argue over each other's white tube socks so the dad would write "DAD" towards the toe end with a black felt marker. While rocking his favorite clear gel sandals, "DAD" would occasionally show through the top. Man, I wish I had a camera during those times!

I just put on shoes, socks and pants for the first time since August 1st.

Prior to retirement I had a rule that while I was on vacation...no socks, shoes or pants...period.

I remember going to a real estate closing in shorts, flips and a Hawaiian shirt. I was on vacation. I walked into a conference room full of suits and they thought I wandered into the wrong room.

Now, I still wear shorts that most can't stand. Jean shorts. I like them better than cargos.

Child of the late 60s early 70s. These were required footwear in college. $25, now! they were like $2 reason everyone wore them nobody had money. Ya I was one of those people Merle Haggard sang about in Okie song. Actually, I can’t believe I found these, thought they died out years ago. As I sit here listening to California Dreaming Mama and Papas, swear to god. Good times!

Back in day they were made in India. You soaked them in water for 24 hours, then wore them till they dried, comfortable as slippers. Became soft as a baby butt.

Back to the socks. Same with me. I ditch socks as much as possible in the summer (pants too). Usually ditch the shorts before I start wearing socks. Sitting outside this AM beside our covered pool with my wife drinking coffee. Too cool for shorts, but…

I'm up at 5 every day.... I'm the one dragging him out. Been retired for 9 years now and no alarms. Early morning is the best time of the day
