Socks

Sitting at the bar. Chores done for day, marina called, engine winterized, done.

Going down to 33 tonight. I broke down and put on socks. Feels strange. How you like the new shoes? Stiff, will need a few months with socks thru winter and work with leather conditioner then soft as the ass on them younguns on the bikini thread.

Ain't none of the asses or breasts soft in those pictures, hard as pumpkins.

New shoes look good, socks not so much.

Pro tip. I have a bunch of Sperry, trick is look for fall/winter sales, nobody buying boat shoes that time of year, they almost give away. They come stiff, so buy in spring or summer and wear no socks you will get blisters. Buy in fall when heavily discounted. Then breakin thru winter with socks. By spring the leather is buttery soft, broke in, no blisters.

Still have shorties on today even though it's barely 40°. I haven't bought a pair of boat shoes in probably 30-35 years. Barefoot or flip flops are it for the most part for me. Sneakers of some sort are my "formal" wear.
I used to wear Reboks Nikes, etc. pick one up. They are 10 times heavier that a good boat shoe. You’d be surprised.

Not socks or crocks but when I was working on the boat a few weeks ago I had workboots on. When I work on whatever, the steel toe boots go on automatically.
While on a test ride it dawned on me if I had to swim for it id be in a lot of trouble. Flip flops and slippers remain on the boat now.
