The reason for that is that EV's aren't where they need to be so many are staying away. Try taking a road trip across the country in an EV. It would be a logistical nightmare. 100 mile detours to find a charging station. I couldn't name a single charging station anywhere near my house (not that I actively look for them). I'm sure there are some in Pittsburgh but thats 50 miles from my house. If I was driving through the rural countryside I'd be screwed.
I would consider buying one for my wife to drive back and forth to work but would never consider a long trip in one so stop forcing them on us by raising fuel prices, creating supply shortages and creating new taxes on us.
Come on man, this is the same argument that we've been over a billion times. This is hopes and dreams. In reality, there are 100:1 ICE to EVs in your local dealership, and GM is investing heavily in new V8 development:Once again you're missing the point. You're focused on today -- sure they aren't "forcing" you. But tomorrow they will be. Biden's looking for 50% new cars to be EVs by 2030.

You're worried about something that will likely never have a major impact on your life.
