Hole in the Water Club

Love the new look on the dash, positively stately. Now where can I buy this. Thanks, Ron

What brand and part on the new batteries? We are planning to refit all of ours.
I don't have a part number, but they're Centennial brand, group 31 size. The guy who owns the boat repair yard said he's used them a lot and has a lot of confidence in them. GW likes the fact that they're no-maintenance because she's the one who usually has to crawl into the small area where they are when they need to be checked for water level.

I think the OEM charger probably was a smart charger, but like a lot of us, as it got older it seemed to lose some of its smarts! Now it's just a dumb charger!

Well I guess I should chime in here as well. I have been nothing but an old Sea Ray refinisher for the past 15yrs. I started with an old 86' 340 that I literally re constructed the entire inside and re did the whole cockpit up to date. - It's for sale on here if your interested (shameless pitch, sorry)

I moved on to my next project an 88' 460, which is in great shape, but it is an 88' 460 ... so enough said there I think. Right now I am refurbing the original 11K Westerbeke. Then adding a wet bar with grill ... then ....

I am sure we would all really enjoy seeing some shared project/progress pictures.

Well I can surly post my gen set pics as soon as it's done. Right now I am in the process of repainting and rebuilding all of the pumps. I had to re-engineer the mounting rails as they were all shot and cracked. I replaced them with hollow aluminum 2x4's.

My grill project is started here. Right now I only have the materials delivered.

Pics would be cool Skybolt!

I just started a project that I thought I was finishing...

Short explanation: Small rips in the base cushions in the cockpit captains seats. Figured I'd just get the base cushions recovered and I'd be back to "like new". Well, the lighting in the office of the cushion guy must have had a yellow tint to it cause the color I picked out looked like a perfect match. Well, I am very happy with the cushion guys workmanship but when I get the finished product home I find out I'm waaaaay off on color. However, I REALLY like the "new" color........ Guess the old girl's gonna get a full cockpit re-cover job this winter.:smt017 We're not telling the wife about this just yet.....

Lesson learned: When doing fabric work, take it outside in the sunlight to verify color match!

I just found out my old 300 is for sale again, the guy who bought it from me last year has it listed at skipper buds (they must like selling that boat) and he is looking to buy a 380 over in wisconsin. He is asking more than i was last year but has done a few upgrades as well as adding over 100 hrs to the meters since last spring.

Here is my Dash Overhaul I did on my 268 Spring of 2014
What was your cost? I just reupholstered the cockpit and now my dash is totally in need of updating. Needs new gauges, switches, breakers...the works. Did you do the panels, or did you have them done?

Thought I had my dues up to date, but forgot about New Year and we just ticked over into a New BOAT Year!

Oil leak at the rear of the boat. I had come to the conclusion it was Auto Trans oil out of the lift circuit for the Tilt Trim Ram on one or both of the legs.

So borrowed a mates hooker.......Umh sorry, Hookah Dive Unit. Went over the back on Saturday, and had a friend operate the tilt/trim. Pinpointed down to the seals in the Starboard Ram.

Which is a slip job.

Sal you have come to the right place for your addiction because all of us here are enablers to your codependents to things that float.

had a lot of pitting from cavitation on the port side ...and I had noticed the port did not dig as well in reverse as the stb. probably had a curled edge but not visibly bent or damaged except the pitting on the face.

Hi everyone. I believe I may have a slight addiction. I've had a boat since I was 5, so I started early..lol! I own several holes in the water... (1) 1984 Searay 210 SRV/305 c.i.d. Mercruiser,(2) 2002 Gambler 2200/Mercury 250XB, (3) 1992 ProCraft 180DC/ Mercury 175Xri,(4) 12' V-bottom/5 hp Merc, (5) 14' Coleman canoe, (6) 12' Predator MX, (7) Excursion 4/55lb minn kota for the Searay, (8) "round boat" float tube/flippers

Love my Searay...It is in excellent condition for its age - never been kept in the water. My wife says that of all of our boats, the Searay is her boat. I am lucky to live on the Upper Chesapeake Bay. The boating, fishing, and crabbing is just incredible here and I am pretty much able to use all my boats at times throughout the year. The Gambler will run 82 GPS at 6100 RPMs on a 28P Bravo custom build. At that rate I am dumping 28 gallons per hour down the hole which is just horrible for a single outboard....But she'll pass just about everything except the gas station. Those are the two I use the most. Take care.....

Welcome to the sickness Ratman !!
always glad to welcome a fellow addict
