Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Does anyone know what type/part numbers are these foot switches on my 330 Sundancer, are still available if so where or do you know of a suitable alternative (manufacturers/part numbers). The wiring diagram in the owners manual shows that these switches supply current directly to the windlass motor and therefore the latest Lofrans foot switches are not "beefy" enough as these are intended to only operate the up/down relays.
If you head over to Defender marine, they are called Foot Switch. Hope that helps shorten your search on their site.

Discovered water coming out from under the helm seat. It appears the defroster unit is what has failed. The hoses seem good and the water is coming from under the unit. I've searched here and a comment was made that an 18" length of 5/8" heater hose can be used to bypass the system at the engine. I hope it's that easy for a temporary fix.

Or you can pull out the defroster and have it welded up or re-cored. Not that big of job. Any radiator shop can do it.
Yes...I pulled the lines off the unit and put in a short piece of hose to bypass the unit. I'll deal with the repair in the off season. For those that wonder what they're sitting over, this is the unit.

Does anyone know the secret to getting a flat rear cabin bed using the wooden slats and the cushion inserts? I don't understand the notches in the slats. Why would they be reversed? If I put the slats with the notches facing up (maximum cushion height), the cushions are still lower than the surrounding bed. What am I missing?

You're missing the factory supplied supports. It's been a while since I've looked at them, but they are aluminum.

Just purchased a 1995 330 Sundancer! I'm looking forward to diving in and making it ours. We start moving into it tomorrow afternoon.

We use a foam bed topper from walmart under the sheet & actually have a piece of foam the size of the fillers under that! It has worked for us. I guess i never got the aluminum supports either that were mentioned above.
Also, that table you have on the floor should fit under the rear bench seat in your cockpit. There are brackets that it slides into on the underside of the seat.

And the table in the cabin fits in the aft closet on holders on the back wall of the closet (if I recall), in case you want to take it down and stow it for some reason.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
BTW, I have a rear bed insert (other than the table top) that fits under the rear bench seat (see linked pictures).

Also, the cushions that are recessed in the aft cabin fit on top of, what looks like, factory wood pieces and metal brackets. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the factory would want the three cushion inserts to be lower than the rest of the bed when they are resting on the wood slats. I am thinking on mounting some furring strips to the slats to raise them up a bit.

New 330 owner here in Daytona Beach. We lost an engine our first weekend out and quickly learned that one engine does not operate very well solo...and we had no power steering. Now we are trying to replace the starter but cannot get to it ourselves or find a mechanic. Is there a way to get to the starter on our own? And was I doing something wrong on one engine that it would only go super slow and no steering?

Hi guys,
Does anyone have a link to the aerator for the stock faucet in the galley?
I replaced mine with a swivel one that can be a stream or a spray. From Home Depot. Works great. Zoom in on my picture.

Ugh, that stinks. Is your boat I/O's? I'm not sure but I believe those model's use a power steering pump that is driven by one of the motors. If that motor dies, so does the power steering. Someone with more knowledge can correct me if I'm wrong. My inboards use a hydraulic power steering with the reservoir on the steering wheel base. Access in these bilges is brutal. You may need to remove the exhaust manifold(s) to access the starter. Again, someone with more hands on knowledge can probably help you there. I hope you get it turned around quickly. Thats a lousy welcome from the new boat.

Hi everyone. it’s been a while, because everything on the boat has been working!!
I do have a small a/c issue these days:
My drip pan has seen better days…it’s rusted and some debris is loose.
I think the drain for the pan is clogged, as the pan keeps filing up and I have to empty it with…yes…a turkey baster.
The drains is quite hard to reach…any ideas on how to unclog it?
Thanks!!
