How loud is everyones water pump? Mine seems obnoxiously loud. I wonder if needs to be replaced. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean your fresh water pump. Shure-Flo pumps don't try to be quiet. It's sitting on top of your water tank under your berth, turning that into a giant speaker. Might try encasing it in some sort of insulated box. The hammering of the water will radiate through the plumbing just like it does in an old house. These systems don't have accumulators. We did replace the pump on Beach House with this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P33KVQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is much quieter than the original, but you can still hear it. I consider that a plus, to identify leaks should they occur.
Another option would be to plumb in an accumulator.

Thanks for the links to both the pump and accumulator. I have slid pipe insulation down the water lines coming from the V-Berth under the hanging locker into the head and it has helped.

Have you installed the accumulator and if so, where?

Thanks,
Dave

Anyone know where to buy the start switches for our model? I’ve got one shorting out on me. Took forever for me to run it down to that being the problem. My regular mechanic says he can’t source it.

Awesome thank you! I will look into all options ☀️

Seems all the “push on” type fittings fit the old grey lines the same as pex. Like the type you just posted. At least that’s been the case for me when I’ve messed with the plumbing. No conversion needed I don’t think. Am I missing something?

I don't think that's accurate. You need the sharkbite ones specifically designed to convert from poly b to pex

I mean they make a model exactly for that reason and I wouldn't roll the dice with plumbing. Just my two cents.

One thing that's important to anyone thinking of replacing a hot water tank you need to get a thermo regulator mixing valve. the water that comes out of that thing from the heat exchanger is hot enough to melt skin. They used an old school design when the boat was built. I plumbed in a Honeywell unit that you can adjust to desired temp

I’m guessing this is the switch but would love if someone knew and could confirm the part number. Or at least had a pic of the back of it...

Just replaced my tank a few months ago. Wish I would have done so for that same reason. Might have to go back and add one.

I might have just got lucky. Added these valves in the engine room and they fit tight. Got them at Lowe’s. Thought I just bought them to fit regular pex but may be mistaken.

I have not installed an accumulator on this boat. I have one on the Portofino, 6" off the outlet side of the sure-flow

Found them!
https://www.fpmarine.com/Carling-rocker-switch-p/vmdj-1.htm

For anyone else looking in the future it’s part number VMDJ 647974. The VMDJ gives you one with illumination. Unfortunately they only make them with the lamp in green LED. So I ordered two have both ignition switches match. Expensive little buggers.

Funny I think one of my switches is starting to go as well.

Did you ever try opening the switch up and cleaning out the contacts?

So it's official, kind of. After looking at several 340s (5 of 7 with moisture issues), and then a large 3500 Tiara (sold sight unseen at full ask), the admiral has spoken. She likes the big one -- 370 DA or bust. Going to go a little older than we'd like, and I'm compromising on the MPIs, but everything else is a plus -- size, seating, engine room, profile, etc. Let the search begin. See you all soon, I hope. :)

Golfman,
I'm in exactly the same position as you, excepting a 390EC for your 340's! Now following Admiral's orders, and will be back here if/when we find one.

I didn’t. But found out that I ordered the wrong ones. The correct part number for the ones with white backlight and the light in the proper location is VMDA-2. FP Marine has them. Got those coming to swap them. Will install as soon as it’s not freezing here

We have a 1996 370 DA and the mid cabin ac/heat temperature no longer is accurate. I was finally able to locate the based on previous posts for this topic. Does anyone know how to replace the probe. I can only follow the wire so far and then loose it. I can't find a schematic for the system either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
