Based on the posts, home ports, and PM's it seems that Holland would be well logistically located for the most members. I am contacting them about slip space on the weekend of July 27th and 28th, with check-in the 26th

You probably already considered this exact thing but I wanted to mention it - Holland will likely be easy from a slip booking standpoint but it will have the least amount of "stuff to do" of all the ports in the area. Great for a raft-up or as a home base for transit to other area ports but it'll will be pretty uninspiring if the crew is looking for off-boat things to do in the area.
Saugatuck and South Haven would be infinitely more active and entertaining but probably pretty hard to book large numbers of slips. Grand Haven is also within range? That's the first weekend of Coast Guard Festival, technically, but it's not that busy. I'd bet you could get 10-15 slips at Grand Isle without much trouble.
I hope to be able to join you guys. I'm tentatively planning a trip to Chicago for that first week of August and could find this CSR crew for a night or two if you're south of Grand Haven. My original plan (if you guys ended up in Mack City or something ) was to stop in either New Buffallo or Michigan City. Both look to have nice marinas with decent options for a beer and a meal nearby.
I’d recommend using Holland as a home base for the get together and having Saugatuck be the day trip. Load a bunch of people who want to go in several boats and park at Tower Marina for the day.You probably already considered this exact thing but I wanted to mention it - Holland will likely be easy from a slip booking standpoint but it will have the least amount of "stuff to do" of all the ports in the area. I was just going to post that but you beat me to it,FYI, I think Saugatucks venetian festival is July 26 and 27. It will be quite busy but also a lot of "stuff" happening.
Stop in New Buffalo, more convenient to walk to restaurants and shopping than Michigan City. Get gas in Michigan City as NB gas has ethanol.

Definitely interested but date and location dependent. I agree on South Haven, Saugatuck or Grand Haven having the most to do. South Haven's (south) municipal marina is an easy walk into town or to the beach...
It's our first year on the Lake, so I will defer to the experts. We will turn it into a tour of the southern half of the lake on both sides, probably spending a couple of weeks touring. MikeI was trying to do something different than SH, which we did last time.
