So, lets talk weather....

My launch just got pushed back 2wks because of weather, May 26 now.
Yeah, it’s bad this year. I went to the boat yesterday for the first time since early November. Only a couple of boats are out of the building so I had to fight my way back there, I’m one who leaves my disconnected batteries in the boat all winter so I checked their condition, checked to make sure the vacu flushes held their vacuum all winter and then went in the ER and tightened all the hose clamps, maybe there an hour and I was freezing. 37 and rain again this morning. Marina opens May 15th, we probably will not be in until later. A lot of the boats in there are from marinas that open sooner and are out by now but with this weather they are still there. Boats are too close for me to wax still. Glad I’m retired because if I was still a weekend boater I’d not be happy.

Good lord, you're missing half the season...
Night temps have been below freezing, the bay to the south of us is still iced in. They're afraid that when it breaks up it could get pushed north a few miles into the marina. The forecast is for a few days of rain, that should get rid of the snow piles at the marina and finish off the ice.

We got plenty of snow up north, a slow melt like this is good, more water gets to soak in, otherwise it's more runoff heading to the Gulf of Mexico and just makes the flooding worse along the way.

Having had a plant in Duluth, I am very familiar with the weather up north. Our guys up there always half joked that the boating season was July 4th to Labor Day.

Looks like fun up north.

That’s when my 1st splash used to be. We opened up the cabin the weekend before the 4th, then I’d drop the boat in when we went back up for the week long holiday.

I put my dock in today because the lake has been rising and I didn’t want it to float away. What a crappy day, but at least it’s somewhat finished. Christmas lights will come down this coming week.

I was over on Little Traverse Bay near Petoskey, MI this morning. It was nicer than I expected but still cool. There's still snow mentioned in the weather forecasts for another couple days, then warmer by the end of the week.

Snowed last night, 4-5", power was out for a a couple hours. It's absolutely white out there, snow plastered to every tree and limb.
They were predicting 3” for us. We just got cold rain and wind. Now they’re predicting shitty weather for next weekend too!! I sure am looking forward to our 2 1/2 months of summer.

It was snowing earlier, but didn’t stick. It’s headed to you and @Woody.

Saw this morning that Michigan and maybe Ohio were supposed to get snow. Pause the start of the season...
Setting record cold highs for today and tomorrow. Coldest first 2 days of May in 115 years (when the recording started). The UP is getting hammered with snow. They are guessing a couple of feet in the western end.
