CSR Lake Erie Islands 2012 Rendezvous

well I think long as we have at least some way to hang out as a group we'll be fine. if we are already planning on the Walleyes then you probably don't need the "table" deal. plus it would mean a little less stuff to haul to the island and setup. I think the boat crawl would be a fun ice breaker for sure....unfortunately I'll probably miss it since I wouldn't likely get there till saturday:(

Hate to hear that but we will leave the light on for you...

As the month of January comes to a close, we have eleven boats on the list to attend the 2012 Lake Erie Rendezvous. Not bad for three weeks of planning an inaugural event in the middle of winter! Jason will continue to update the list in Post #1.

Please note that this event is not limited to western Lake Erie boaters. Rather it is open to anyone who can access the waters of western Lake Erie. We would love to have our friends from the east end of the lake, the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair, Canada and beyond join us. For those that trail your boat (like us), there are several launch ramps in the area. Heck, we even have an Egg Harbor and a Boston Whaler on the list so we are not limiting it to Sea Rays!

Just because western Lake Erie and the Island area is not your primary cruising area, don’t rule out attending. There are many of us with local knowledge and we will be willing to share it with you.

As the weather gets warmer more details will be finalized. In the meantime, we hope you will consider joining us.

Casey where do you launch out of?

I am hoping for 5 hours each way
borrowing a buddy's diesel 3/4 ton for the trip....might cut down the drive time a little

I think it would be a great time but a few obsticles in the way, first being time off from work second being that I am coming from Sarnia I am guessing on about $1800 for gas and thirdly my boating experience is limited and still need to get a feel for the boat.
If not this year maybe next year, I think it would be great to meet some fellow boaters and take the kids to Cedar Point

Dan

And one more thing:smt089, after having to purchase a new boat, the budget took a crap kicking and the funds are tight.
short trips this year.....Hope everyone has a great time.

Dan, yes im sorry to hear about the Chaparral.. what a tragedy. Sarnia is a very nice area. I came up there a few years ago and absolutely loved the area...

Ok, Guys page one is *UPDATED* again with information and attendees list.

Special thanks again to Casey for helping me compile the information... I owe you one.

I know we are a few months out yet but I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and your families. It will be here before we know it. So hang on a few more months and I'll pass on the info as I get it...

Thanks everyone for making this event a possibility.

Thanks Jason. As much as I liked the Chaparral the Sea Ray seems soooo much nicer but that comes at a price. I was just getting the hang of docking it last year with the stern drives now I added an extra 5 feet. The guys at Colony Marine have been great Billy will be taking me out in April to show me the ropes. I have been told many times the V drives are much easier to dock with than stern drives but 36" of boat is still intimidating.....Slow and steady.
If we can't make it hope everyone has a great time.

Dan

Hey all,Iknow it's been awhile since I've been on the site, but the wife & I wll be at PIB that weekend. We'll try to make it over maybe Sat for lunch. MBI docks & Walleyes is a great location -one of our favorite places for weekends.Cheers!
