Keep Tabman in your thoughts

Tabman is a great guy and helped me out a great deal when adding Auto Tab control to my boat! He even commented on my installation favorably. He is in our prayers and thoughts!

Here is another message from Tabman's daughter that was posted on TheHullTruth.com. I also added the link to the site where donations can be made to post #1 of this thread.

Hi guys! Took me a little while to get everything set up and verified: but here we go!

My father, you all know him as Tabman, was probably sailing before he could walk. He spent his youth racing Blue Jays and Lasers with the Thimble Island Sailing Club off the the coast of Connecticut. When he was old enough, he and his brother worked at his father's shop Great Scot working on the area's sail boats.
It's obvious to me, his heart has never left the sea. When I was a child, I don't remember ever living more than fifteen minutes from the ocean. One of my fondest memories with my father were the afternoon drives to local marinas to check out the boats. I still remember him telling me, with great pride, how to distinguish Bennett trim tabs from other tabs.
I've always felt that I knew my father very well but the outpouring of support from the people he's helped and befriended as Tabman has made me truly proud to be his daughter.

You can donate at this link:
https://www.youcaring.com/Tabman

Hopefully everything is working properly, I've been trying put this together on my phone so hopefully I've crossed all my t's and dotted all my i's. Please spread this around! Also, if for some reason the link doesn't work, you may just be able to google: youcaring and Tabman and find it. I'll check back in tonight to check and see if its working!

So many thanks,
-Tabgirl

Link provided in the above post works perfect. It is a nicely laid out site that makes donating very simple. Here is for a quick recovery to great guy that would do anything to lend a hand to someone else.

Nice site, great cause! Very easy to use...

the goal is only $4000 but I am hopeful that all the forums/people he has supported over the years can easily beat that. I'm sure the bills will be much more than that.

if you are having trouble donating , the family is aware and working to resolve.

I got an error message which made it seem like my donation didn't get through, so I tried again and got the same error. Then I checked my email, both went through.

It went through twice...figured it was a sign, so I didn't try to cancel the second one. Like many others, Tabman has helped me out in the past, and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Update

Friends of Tabman,

Great news everyone!! Tabman has been moved out of ICU! Of course, he is still very tired, but when he is awake he is speaking and understands what is happening around him.

He is currently at the following location:

Halifax Health Hospital
303 N. Clyde Morris Blvd
Daytona Beach, FL 32114
Room 1522

Keep on praying for him and his family, since we can see how much it has helped so far!

Sincerely,

Regards,

Update : Posted yesterday.

Hullo guys!

This is tabgirl- I'm getting ready to head home to Maine from Florida, where I've been taking care of my dad. Today (while its almost over) is my birthday, and it just seems like an opportune time to say this:

I really want to thank all of you so much. I'm so grateful for your monetary support, but also I want you all know I'm so thankful to you all for in a way letting me learn about my father. He has clearly created a family here and a group of people that truly apprciates him. There's been such an incredible outpouring; for people that know him and even more stunningly, people that don't. There's been a surprising number of people that have written in their donation that they don't know my father, but given anyway.

My heart is so full knowing how you all have given to him, and I can never thank you fully, you beautiful strangers. The donation fund will stay open for a while, (please keep passing it around, our full total bill will just be too large to say, I can't even estimate any more) I hope we can bring a little more.

I just want to say, again, you people here have let me in on a little part of my father I never knew. It's so amazing to me to know this many people cared this much for him.

Thank you all for making my birthday, my month, and helping my father.
He's being discharged from the hospital tomorrow, and he should be fiddling around on the computer shortly after. :smt038

I will check in again in a week or so, just to see what the tabman is up to.

One last super thanks to Blackfin mike- you made this happen, you were totally the catalyst and I can't thank you enough.
