The 5k Kohler generator in our 300 DA will start and run fine when the boat is cold. but just kicks and dies after the main engines have been run. Here's a typical scenario: I arrive at the boat after it has been sitting on the mooring overnight and the generator starts right up and runs fine...
Connected the new gps sensor using the existing wire. led shows the sensor is working ok, but the chartplotter still has "no fix" and I shorted out the ST60 so now I have no depth reading either. Considering upgrading the whole system at this point.
I am replacing a Raystar 120 with a new Raystar 125 plus (only sensor currently available)
The tech at raymarine told me that I could splice into the existing wire at the antenna to avoid having to run a new cable.
My display is a 2003 RL70c plus and it has a simple connection to the antenna...
My boat just lost a flapper ... it got stuck and caused the exhaust bellows to pop off the drive.
My marina quoted me 8 hours labor to install a new flapper??? I have 350 magnum engines with B3 drives. Their estimate seems a long way from "30 minutes a side" ????
ENgine Hatch Safety Prop
My brother has a 2005 340DA and I noticed that his engine hatch has a built-in prop that folds down to make sure the hatch doesn't collapse if the piston fails (I guess that's what it's for)
Do the newer 300DA's have one of these props? My 2003 doesn't, and since I...
We take my grandaughter's Bichon 'Molly' everywhere with us. We always make her wear the life jacket.
She did get sea sick last 4th of july on the way back from Hyannis ... that was not fun ... the wife had to hold the bucket while trying not to loose it herself. She loves being in the cabin...
This is our first year with the 300DA ... it has an electrically operated engine hatch with no obvious way to open the hatch manually. I think I have no choice but to leave the batteries in the boat and connected. (If anyone knows the recommended process for my situation then please set me...
Congrats ... We love our 300 and I was surprised that it's the best handling boat I have owned. I would just take it slow and you should be fine ... don't try too hard ...
I doubt if you could maintain 25mph in 7 to 10 footers. You'd probably have to slow down to around 10mph and you'd still burn 12 GPH after climbing the backs of the waves and working the throttle ... that would put the trip at 10 hours and you'd be low on fuel ... not good.
LOL - My wife was on the boat when I first noticed the lean ... Luckily I bit my tongue ... then when she got off I saw that the boat still favored the port side. I really dodged a bullet there.
Stray Cat ... I have run my generator and the starboard gas gauge shows less gas than the port...
Hi,
We have a 2003 300 Sundancer. The other day I noticed that the port sied sits lower in the water than starboard. Does anyone know what causes this? I don't have anything loaded off-center. The water tamk is pretty full ... could that be the issue? I'm not that concerned, but would...
Politicians all suck ... I can agree with that.
That being said ...
1928 - 1933 ... Herbert Hoover and a republican majority controlled the government ...
2001 - 2009 ... G W Bush and a republican majority controlled the government ...
hmmmmm
"Those who don't learn from history ..."
OK, I'll step up ...
I voted D because I didn't want another fiasco in the tradition of Nixon, Regan, Bush Sr. or Bush Jr. ... Because I'm not a hater ... and because I don't let Rush Limbaugh influence my decisions.
That being said ... Gov. Patrick is a huge disappointment ... he doesn't...
Has anyone painted their white dash to get rid of glare?
After our first extended cruise in the 300DA I know I have to do something about the white dash. We were in heavy weather and had the canvas up ... it was impossible to see out through tht windshield. I finally spread a dark towel on...
